From what I have read, the Walkera RX won't work with any other TX and the Walkera TX won't work with any other RX.
So yes, you'll need another RX for the Futaba TX.

I am going to be upgrading my df60 Walkera RX to a Spektrum AR6000, switching to a Spektrum DX6 TX with included S75 servos and probably a digital S9254 servo for the tail.

If your transmitter does not have heli functions, you can't use it with the DF60. It is CCPM and if I remember, you need 120 degree mixing. The DF36 can work with an airplane transmitter, but not as well as with a heli tx. Study the difference between CCPM and mechanical mixing. Also, with an airplane radio, the tail response won't be so good.
