i will try smaller props. it was said electric isnt there yet well i dont have to worry about a tiny nichrome coil from breaking. she flys really smooth in normal flight. Well i flew her today without changing a thing except on landing i shut all power off unplugged the deans and replugged all in. Got another strong 7 min, I really dont want to mess around too much the real 310 was not made for aerobatics. I figured out what happened to my flight times. When i went to start up for the first time this year i had the throttle all the way up and the esc went into program mode. I need to figure out the phoenix beeps system. I told there is a cable that goes into the computer. Anybody really know the phoenix 80 and can tell me how to set cutoff to default then i will time my flights so i dont hurt my batts.
I also tried some steep approaches and short field landing and for a high wing loading airplane she lands like a trainer. I am shocked at how well she does fly. My climbouts are good .

anyone notice any stress cracks around the bottom of the nose. All that steel shot may be pulling on the structure. I have always landed on the mains never had a nose bounce so the cracks are from normal operation now with 24 flights in id hate the nose to fall off! TF will be owing me a lot of money if that happens.
they should have acknowleged the electric flyer and made a version with no steel shot and a nose cone so out batts can go there instead of the nacelles. I could save 3 lbs doing that but it flys ok and im not gonna change it . too busy on a wingspan b-17 and a royal 1/6 corsair (blown up 133% royal original; plans not the 1/5 kit on the matket.

Tower has just now discontinued the OS 70 Ultimate. I'm going with th YS 63S.

addition to a high and low needle, it will be OK as it is from the factory's pre-set
in most cases.
Once set, YS engines are nearly maintenance free like other brands because of
having a pump and regulator which allows us to place fuel tank almost anywhere.
It does not hate even inverted mount at all.
I don't like their exhaust sound, a bit louder and more dry sound than others.
We have to make sure that there is no leakage in the fuel line and use a durable
fuel tank since it is pressurized much during engine running.
It will be better at first if you have friends who know YS engines at the flying field,
but YS engines are not untouchable.

You hang around this thread long enough and you'll end up with one of these as well!

Hi Everybody.
My name is Marlon Tabora from Honduras Central America. I expect receive my Cessna 310 this week.
Somebody use brakes on his Cessna 310? If somebody yes, could you give more details: brand, part number or some other installation details.
Best regards
Marlon

Hi Bo.
Thanks for your reply. Those wheels are 4 inch ? are you using brakes for the nose wheel or only for main wheels?
regards
Marlon

I just received my Sierra retracts, the offset looks wrong to me. Can any of you guys tell if these look right?
I have no idea why the photos are so big, I think I added a few too many pixels
Thanks

Well thats strange. I just test fit them with the wing halves put together and with the dihedral it appears to be right. I did not realize there was that much dihedral in the wings.
Tsutomu Mabuchi-
I know you used the Sierra retracts, can you confirm the off set?
Thanks

Thanks Walt. When you installed the nose gear did you have to cut a slot for the steering arm? Can you please post a photo of the nose gear set up, if its not too much trouble?
Thanks
Thanks

I don't recall having to cut a slot for the nose gear. I built my plane over a year ago an really don't remember. I am currently out of town so I can not look and help you out right now. But I will check when I get home next week. Sorry

The Sierra nose gear is set up different from the Robart. Its my understanding that this set up prevents slop in the pull-pull. The arm will not quite fit into the mounting area, so it will have to be modified some.
Thanks Walt!

Well I'm back. I'm ready to build mine and It took me a month to catch up on the last 70 PAGES. Ge-wiz, My eyes are hurting now.
I removed all of the steel shot weights from the nose. I weighed it and I removed 1 lb 14 oz. 2 oz shy of 2 pounds.
I also removed all of the stock lighting system and re-installed my favorite lighting system from Electro Dynamics.
