Peter, There are no slots cut for the horns in case one chooses not to use them, I cut them there. I, however, will continue to mount mine like this. The reason- at full deflection, the pushrod is straight there-by not loosing any “mechanical advantage” (might not the right choice of words here). Personal preference. Although after I figure out what throws I want on the surfaces, I will try and move the pushrods in on the arms and down on the surface to achieve the same thing.
