Flylow,
Just run a search in this forum for Edge 540, and you'll turn up enuff to read for the next 5 days.
A very nice plane to move into gas / giant scale with.
Been built and flowen with just about every engine you can name too.
All in all a great plane to make the jump with.
Add to that a great price, with great support.
Can't go wrong with this one =)

Also several Vids of this plane in action, check the Wild Hare web site for more links too .

No, you won't. Please pay attention, THIS IS A BRAND NEW AIRPLANE that replaces the one that has been around for 3 years.

Yep, and it was described pretty well towards the end of the Yak/Taurus thread. I got on the waiting list for this one when I first heard about it. This one will be a whole different ball game from the first version. It prolly won't be much for IMAC competition but if you're into 3D then this one should be the ticket.

Ohhh
So this Taurus 52 that is heading my way would power this thing on the high end? Hmmm
Hope to see the new bird in a review and thorough test

I have a feeling that most of you guys out there will be able to get this one in the air before I do, so the review and assembly process is on you. In the extremely off chance that I can get one done before you guys I will. Be assured that I'll be looking forward to what ya'll post in here about the new Edge. As for the Taurus being able to haul this around on the high side of the power curve I don't think there is any doubt that it will do so extremely well.

Are there any plans to change the 1.20 Edge as well? I.E. different manufacturer or built up wings instead of foam core?

Is the New Edge specifically designed for lighter DA/Taurus type engines only?

Actually yes. When the current batch of 1.20 Edges is gone (there are only a few left) we'll be working on a replacement from our Chinese builder. The Edge 1.20 was built in Thailand, and we have moved away from that builder.

No, not at all. It's a good strong airframe that will do well with almost anything like a 3w55, G62, etc. This is an outstanding all purpose airplane.

Cool! I'd be interested in one of those. Might consider enlarging the ailerons while you're at it. The 1.20 Edge was sweet, but one that would be stable in harriers and even lighter would be sweet.

FlyLow,

The new Edge will handle all the usual engines that have been used on the previous Edge and Extras. If you used a G-62 on the old one then the new one could still use the 62 and come in lighter than the last time around while having larger maneuvering surfaces.
