I can't say enough good things about the quality of this helicopter. It is quickly becoming my favorite Heli, and that's saying a lot considering what I have invested in my T-Rex.

One question, I heard there are a support forum for this heli, can you give me the address to that please?

I was able to procure a CSM SL420e from the marketplace here this week... got an awesome deal on it too. If you refresh the marketplace banners enough, you'll see what I'm talking about :)

I was also able to grab a Futaba S3154 digital micro servo and got it all lined up this week. I should have it all tuned some time tomorrow.

Mad Piro rates with the CSM 420e and the Futaba S3154 digital servo. I'm considering increasing the servo arm length to make them even crazier [8D]

ShellDude -> RE: Dragonus II Elite Standard Build Thread (12/16/2006 4:17:20 AM)

A few more updates.

Tonight I swapped out the MaxPro CF Blades for the set of Vic Campbell's V2Blades I'd bought for my Dragonus originally. There's nothing wrong with the MaxPros... I just want to start using my premier blades :)

Also, as part of my continuing effort to increase the piro rate of my tail, I extended the ball on my servo link one hole to assure full travel with the CSM gyro. What little hovering/testing I did tonight promises completely insane piro rates.

I also have a Medusa 28-32-3400 on order that I hope to have installed in the next couple days.

Outstanding build documentation, the pictures are excellent quality! Thanks for taking the time to document it, I have done similar photo documentation for other hobbies and know how time consuming it is. The song in the flight video is good too, I bought it from itunes, just don't listen to it on Prozac. [:D]

Hi everyone,

I am a bigginer in this field, but I allways likes this hobby, recintly I buy a rc heli (New dragonus II 450 SA CCPM RC Heli Combo-od)
and it comes with no receiver and transmitter. Can someone tell me what type can I buy to fit with the heli and how can I connect the
eletrical parts if you can take some photos please,of the eletrical parts connected it will be very helpfull.

Thanks

RC-TEK -> RE: Dragonus II Elite Standard Build Thread (1/14/2007 4:11:28 PM)

Chali,
There are many Futaba, Jr, and other TX/RX options out there and most will work fine. What is your budget and do you have any previous experience in electrical set up?

I would look closely at Shell's photos as they are very good. Between those and the paperwork that comes with most ESC's, receiver's and other radio gear, you should be fine and enhance your heli education at the same time.

Regards,
Scott

chali -> RE: Dragonus II Elite Standard Build Thread (1/14/2007 7:06:04 PM)

The photographs are very helpful but I would very much appreciate if you could provide me with more detailed information regarding
the connection (electrical components) from the battery to the motor, the servos, the receiver and to the Electronic Speed Controller.
In fact - the wiring system.

Thanking you in advance
regards
charles

guddam -> RE: Dragonus II Elite Standard Build Thread (3/20/2007 1:05:55 PM)

Hi ShellDude,

Nice thread regarding the build-up on the Dragonus II 450, I first bought the PRO version, and it's awesome. I'm a beginner in electric heli but previous experience in electric T/C racing helps a bit in terms of electronic. For a newbie without any experience, there's gonna be a steep learning curve here. I think the electronic connections in the manual will give most people a basic idea on how to start on this hobby..... but a detailed thread with pictures on electronic hook-up will helps a lot.

I also got me another Dragonus, but SA version for daily trashing or practising new manouvers....

RCFlyer55 -> RE: Dragonus II Elite Standard Build Thread (7/9/2007 12:58:27 AM)

shelldude where did you get the wire covers??

ShellDude -> RE: Dragonus II Elite Standard Build Thread (7/9/2007 3:02:22 AM)

I get my wire covering (braided sleeving) from http://www.wirecare.com I've been using the anti-fray stuff recently and am very happy with it. Be sure to pick up some color coordinated heatshrink while you're there :)

placeholder for e-copter flybar cage review

-

I recently acquired an enclosed (cage) flybar holder from e-copter (the european helicopter and technical arm of a2pro) but I'm hesitant to proceed with posting details about it on account of all my gallery links being broken and my inability to modify any of my existing posts in this thread.
