2 different trucks, the tmaxx is a monster truck and the other is a stadium truck and i think 1/8 scale too and the tmaxx is 1/10. get the tmaxx, parts are easier to get and its fast.

As ehoof said

There two totally different trucks. The T-maxx is a Monster truck and that is a Stadium truck. There two totally different trucks, the T-maxx will take more abuse then that ST will. Dont let them try and talk you out of what you want, as long as they carry a parts supply for the t-maxx then I would suggest getting it. There great trucks and a T-maxx is what I started out with, and it took a lot of abuse, and rarely if ever broke. If you want the 3.3 then get it, there great truck's, I just dont particularly like the trx engine's. But thats just my personall opinion though, but if thats what you want then you go buy it and have fun. You did your research and if thats what you want then as I said go get it and have fun with it.

Go have fun

Why do you say its actually 2.2? I thought it was 3.3cc / .20 cubic inch

If you have to have a Traxxas there is only one to consider and that is the Revo. I will not go in to detail as I am not going to argue! I would pick the XTM over the T-Max all day long.
