thanks Rich. I ust got email today that mine is on the way UPS. My son will take a look at it and let me know what he thinks. i wil lpost his remarks when he gets me the info. For the price I am excited to have a decent sized 109. I've had the Kyosho 109 and it flew real well but it was a little on the small side for me.

Thanks Rich.

With alittle extra in the center it could make the giant scale cuttoff.

LDM yep it is the same plane. With the wing bolting it will be a little more trouble to transport and put together, Just 4 wing nuts and put the canope on.

I just about have the retracts done , I am using a set of CJ geart that I had with some Dave Platt struts that I had also. They give you fiberglass wheel wells and the wells are already sheeted with 1/6 balsa. I plan on using bigger wheels so I won't be able to use the existing wheel wells. The canope needs some help so I might make the G model with the square frame.
Still waiting for the instructions mainly for the CG. The tail feathers are all build up.
I had to take the vertical fin post out < it was lose anyway> to get things straiten up.
Todd I will try to get some more pictures this weekend. For a big plane it is going to be light. Oh yea it has working flaps too. Rich

thanks Rich, look forward to it. I am keen on some of these new ARF's coming out now.

looks like a great way to get a plane in the air quickly while I'm doing year to year and half
builds.

hey Todd spoke to the original owner of CMP . He does very little importing of the cmp warbirds because they(cmp) so to so many others now.
What he had to say that I found interesting is that he is getting into the all "composite "arfs .They will start with stunt planes , the introduce warbirds in his words "as scale as possible " we discussed all the wrongs with current modles and he said I know why have a bird if you cant get close to scale .
He is partnering with willshobbies to make 100%composite planes , he knows all about KMP but feels he can offer the quality at a lower price.
Only time will tell

Computition Is good for us. Now all we need is a GOOD set fo electric retracts with struts that will hold a 15 lb airplane for under $100 bucks. I think it will happen their is a big market for them. Rich

Keep the pics coming Rich, looks like the '109 could be a real nice bird. I just picked up a Wills Hobbies/CMP/GSP 71" span Zero off of ebay for a rediculous price and I can't believe how nice of an airplane it is. Easily worth twice what I paid for it. I think I'm just going to put a new paint job on this one and go fly but I'm definitely looking at picking up another one to really dress out. At these prices I can afford to buy two and have one to fly and one to work on!

Alan Did you get instructions with your kit? I need to find out where they show the CG? I emailed them twice. One said they would send the ins to me but nothing showed up yet. Thanks Rich

Hi Rich,

My son just emailed me and said there were no instructions with the kit. He said the overall plane looked pretty good. There was a small crack on the cowl near the exhaust cutouts but that is no big deal to me. the pics he sent me looked just like yours.

I am excited about getting started on this thing . I am lookin forward to it when I get home in February. Hope to hear more about your project if you get started on it soon.

109's Stuka's etc...

Anyone know anything about these birds on EBAY:

http://stores.ebay.com/RC-WORLD-INTERNATIONAL

I asked the seller about them - said they are made by a company in the UK called "Flying Planes"

Does anyone know about these birds and/or company website?

Thanks

ripbud , yes they are the same planes that are imported by hobby lobby in Tennesee .Hit hobby lobby in on google , make sure you then click on hobby shop and not the craft shop .
There good planes but all lightweight foam .
Hobby lobby has two major importers , one is alfa , they are about 95% assembled and flying styro , they need much more assembly .

Got some work done on the 109. Made a new canope from brass angle, made a spinner to fit from one I had. The CJ retracts fit pretty good without a lot of work. The 1/2 struts don't go completely below the wing.
I cut out the wheel wells for a 4 in tire and that is as big as you can use without getting into the main spar.
I changed the elev push rod to fiber shaft and added a 1/8 ply support. I mounted the tail wheel in the scale location and run the linkage back to the rudder.
All servos are installed except for the retracts.

1)did you solder that frame ?
2)were the rails in the proper place for the gear , or did you reset them ?

LDM yes i soildered the frame together, luckly everything is pretty much flat. The retracts are pretty close. They don't angle back quite far enoughin the wing when retracted. The main spar is right there. I think this bird has potential, If I get several good flights on it I will pull the covering and fiberglass it and repaint it. With the G23 in it it is a little nose heavy. But I can move the battery back some. I don't thingk it will weigh 13 lbs ready to fly. Rich
