Doin a little bit of web surfing today and I came across this new plane that Sig has released. This thing looks real nice, 1/6 scale, 10 #'s , beautiful. Just what I needed another plane to add to my long list of must haves.

yes if the last few planes Sig has released is any indication, it will be a few months before we will be seeing this in any of the HS. That will give me time to get my building table cleaned off.

yes the release lets mw finish my spacewalker2...really turning out to be a joy to build ...If the waco is as good as that I will be adding another plane this winter (as if I needed too) .what the heck this my passion.and yes I think it likely will be easier than the stagger wing topflight has and thats nice too.

gnirwin, Sorry to interupt your thread but I thought some solid information about the new Waco SRE might be helpful. We first introduced this model at the Chicago iHobby Show a few weeks back and the response was fantastic. At that time we quoted availability as the end of January to possibly early February and that still stands.
The airplane is 1/6th scale with a top wing span of 69-1/2". The final kit verison that I'm currently flying is powered with a Saito 1.00 4-stroke engine that provides excellent power margins. The scale flaps are just wonderful, providing super nice landings, etc. My Waco SRE weighs in at 9lbs, 12oz and that includes an optional glow driver system. We've worked hard on this kit, making it one of the nicest looking and nicest flying scale ships that I've flown in a long, long time. There's a lot more to say but I won't wasted you time here. I thought you might enjoy a few low-res photos of the final kit version, so I'm attaching these to this message.

thanks Scott, The plane is beautiful. If this plane is as light as you say and flies as well, then you guys might have hit a home run with it. I love bipes and even though this isn't officially a biplane it still will be a nice one to have.

Not a biplane? What would be required in order for it to be an, "Official Biplane?"

A plane with two wings of unequal width are called a "sesquiplane" or in the case of the SRE a "staggered sesquiplane", 1 1/2 wings . You do not hear this word very often as most people refer to a plane with 2 wings, regardless, as "biplanes".

So, as to that, the entire lineup from the WACO Plant (Weaver Aviation) would not be considered Biplanes....HERESEY !!!

Not unequal width, but bottom wing has less than 1/2 the area of the top wing regardless of chord to be a "sesquiplane".
All that aside, the "Cabin WACO" is gorgeous and I will have one in my hangar. Scott, is this a laser cut kit, and what will the projected price range be? This is a KIT, right, and not an ARF, or will it be offered both ways?
