Any update on release date on this beauty? I wonder what the ARF market has coming down the road for us lazy folks. I sure have hope maybe we'll see a Swift, Navion, Cessna 195 or so on.

Is O'Brien Hobbies local to you, do they have a website? At $369, it's $30 cheaper than Sig's advertised price. I just ordered the Cox/Pica YMF, and as soon as the wallet rebounds, want to get this one too. As always, it will get "customized". This is what I have in mind:

Has any magazine done test report on this plane yet? All I've seen so far is Sig's own advertising hype. I have no doubt that it's nice, but they can hardly be objective (not that the rags would say it's a dog, even if it was). I'd just like to see some more pics of detail, etc.

I don't think they've arrived yet. My LHS is #14 on the list, so he should get one from the first shipment. I'll let you know what he has to say about the SRE when it arrives.

The LHS has offered me the kit, if I want it. That gives me the option to look it over closely before I buy.

In the middle of the Cox Waco now, and really want to see this one too. Built the Sterling C/L Waco SRE years ago (guess I'm dating myself here).

Guys,

I've been thinking of picking up one of these as well. I just love the Waco Cabins. Here is a picture of my Sterling SRE.

I called Sig today {2/6] and the very nice lady said that it would be March before the SRE would be here. So we must all wait! She did not say when in March.

I wonder if it will be possible to put some sort of scale cockpit in the SRE.

Does anyone have pics of the SRE cockpit?

Not sure if it's an SRE specifically, but it's one of the cabin WACO's. Pretty dang nice, reminds me of my uncle's old Hudson Terraplane inside.

Thanx, khodges.

A friend sent me a few pics from that same plane. He's doing an HKS, so I assume it's one of those.

Hi Scott,
I would like your thoughts on power for this beauty. I have one on order and am planning on using my Saito 100 Twin. Do you see any problems with this power / airframe combination. I am specifically wondering about power to weight, C.G. and cowl fit. Thanks.

silver.kiwi,
To begin, we have not tried a Saito 1.00 twin in any of our Waco SRE models. We have used only single cylinder engines. One of the concerns you might have is the weight of your engine. Again, I don't have the Saito 1.00 twin specs in front of me but I can tell you that I'm flying my Waco with a Saito 1.00 single cylinder engine that weighs 19.4 ounces. Further, regarding the internal specs of the Waco cowl; you have a working distance of 5-7/16" from the firewall to the spinner backplate and a working inside cowl dia. of 7-1/2".

I've been flying my Waco/Saito 1.00 using both 14-8 and 15-6 props. These props on my Saito 1.00 provide very good thrust, allowing a true half-thro
