This is a beautiful model.
I have considered buying it, and have contacted SIG to ask if they sell it as a kit.
They're considering making it as a kit in the future, but not now.
As I'm a builder and want some more detail than is featured, I've decided to build one myself.

I've ordered plans from http://www.vintagercplans.com/ and can't wait to get started!

OK, my Sig Waco finally arrived. I opened the box and its looks superb. Then I read the manual. Nowhere in the parts list can I find the 6' wide trailer that's necessary to transport this critter. The assembly of the flying wires to the wings is rather permanent, so there's no reasonable way to remove the wings for transport (other than unscrewing 8 tiny turnbuckles). Has anyone rigged a solution to this? Springs added between the turnbuckles and the wings? I find it difficult to believe that Sig would design and have manufactured an ARF that can't readily be transported in a SUV. As much as I want to fly this baby, I'll send it back if there's not a realistic way to break it down. Suggestions?

Rog

rloeb,

I've just started the build on mine, (so I couldn't send it back even if I wanted to - which I don't btw, it's lurvley).
When I get to the rigging I WILL find a way around this problem.
I'll keep you posted.

Didg.

Didg,

I'm more than willing to lean on your ingenuity. If you can figure a reasonable way to disassemble this critter, then I'll keep it. Next poster said they just didn't use the flying wire rigging. Is the plane structurally sound enough without all that wire? Much easier if it is!

Does anyone here have klnowledge about the lighting on the SRE?
I want to include scale lighting on mine, but don't have the necassary details/knowledge and live too far away to be able to go and look at the full-size aircraft.

I can see in an earlier pictures in this discussion that there are lights in the wing tips, but also something in the top wing. Is that a taxi light? Does that fold out?
Also I see something under the fuselage. Is that a flashing beacon?

I'd like to know which ones should flash, what color they should be, and their precise positioning.
Can anyone help me please?
