But that's for 12/15 engines. Mine is a 18SS.

I just thought I'd mention it, since they say it's a 12/15 backplate. Thanks hpi apollo.

I prefer buying a new one, because it's a new car and I don't want to take any chances. Thanks anyway.

there is no reason you should get tired of pulling on a pull start, it you cant start it easily within a few turns on a pull starter, a roto starter wont help you any, you need to learn the proper amount to prime the engine, ect

Yeah, exactly. Actually the first thing i did when i got my car was replace the rotostart with a pull starter. I really didn't like the rotostart much, pain to remember to charge and carry around.

hey guys, dumb question here. If I buy a pullstart do I need to buy anything else? The car I bought has a roto plate on it and I hate those things. There should be a 1-way in it still right? and it's the HPI1668 that I'd need for the 18ss?

Yeah, all you need is a recoil starter. The one way bearing from the rotostart is the right size, etc, simple bolt on.

perfect, it's either buy a pullstart or buy the rotostarter, battery and charger. Plus then I gotta cart that junk around wherever I wanna go play.
