Hey buddy, I read your post and could not help but respond. First thing you need to do is trash the brushed motor before it gets so hot the solder comes loose and you crash your bird, or the motor just quits in mid-air. You need to get a good brushless set-up with at least a 20a draw and 200 plus wattage output for optimum performance and run a esc at at least 5a coverage of your motors burst capacity and definitely get one with a bec.
I personally am in love with the danlions 3200, I have not flown a motor on the king including the medusas that I like better, I sell medusas and scorpions and still run the danlions and they run half the price.

On the belt issue, there are a bunch of ways to correct your problem, everything from extra washers to stacking the bearings, here is a pic of my personal favorite fix, I have never had a belt failure on any king this has been installed on.

hey guys
I bought my HBK2 three weeks ago. Im very new in RC helis. Ive had lama V3 before and it was good for beginners like me i think!. But I have some problems with it. after 3 times hovering the belt was thinner and thinner, fibers and black powders were every where around the tail blades and gear. I changed the belt with new one and add a little grease on it but it doesnt made any help. Another probleme is its standard brushed motor. when i hover it about 3 mins it got very hot and last time when i switched the idle up i noticed there is very shiny sparks from the motor and some smoks(although it has a heat sink but do nothing). I immedietly landed it and dissconnected the battery. but fortunately it still working.
Please reply me if there is anyone has the same problem, please tell me how can i fix theme up
Thank you

Thank you for quickly replying me. I saw your picture but i didnt realized what kind of bearing and timming gear you using it seems theyre far different from its custume design (I meen it looks they are better than the original) and I don know where can i find theme. In case of power issue i wanna buy e-sky brushless motors and ESCs from e-sky because the lack of hobby sellers in my region. In this case i visited the e-sky official website and searched for a brushless. They say the suite model for HBK2 is EK5-0004 which do 3100rpm/v and a EK5-0350 ESC. But I dont know what kind of gear should I use for the BS.
Any other advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Well if you have to stay with esky, go with the 3800, you will not like the 3100. It is underpowered and unresponsive, the 3800 is the best choice. The 3900 is getting closer but it is still a very low amp draw and does not put out much in the way of wattage, you are forced to set the heli up to fly by headspeed instead of torque. If you decide to go the 3100 route I personally would run the 11t and if I ran the 3800 I would go 10t, same with the 3900. I am telling you though, power WILL be your issue with the 3100 so at least try not to go with that one.
(NOTE The 3800 will require you to dremel the motor mount holes ever so slightly to mount it properly)

The bearing are Align but not used for their intended purpose, they are spacers for the carbon fiber frame kit and they just worked too well at the bearing position, lol. If you can find a store in your area that carries align they can order them in for you.

Rusty< I am using it as a doorstop. I had a extra Esky 3800 I dropped in my freinds bird and all is well. My King is still flying great. I'm working on my next project a E Smart, very nice I'm really impressed with it. I hope to have it flying next week. I made a few mods using the T Rex 600 tail rotor and blades. Heres some pics. Hi
I still have problem with the Belt. I posted some Images of my belt position. Please tell me what should I do to the flange bearing to move the belt more smoothly?
Thankyou.

Pulleys look pretty well situated, but is your tail on crooked?

Whatever other mods you do, first thing is to get the tie-wrap off the gyro......
