Has anyone tried the Hi tork servos that Nitro sells??
Price is incredible if the specs are anywhere near accurate.

If you're talking about those TowerPro servos -- forget it!

I reviewed the 5010 and 995 servos for my new website and they're most certainly *not* a bargain.

In fact, I'm still looking for a *good* hi-torque servo out of China but so far (after much testing) I've not found any. You're still better to go with a servo from one of the big-three (Futaba, JR or Hitec).

I beg to differ....

I've been using the SG-5010's w/o ANY problems.

Thus far I've purchased a couple of dozen of them from NP.... and I have used them in place of far more expensive Digital servos on my Funtana 90S... let alone all the other planes I've put them into. I'm no IMAC flyer though.

I haven't had one fail.

The torque is pretty good, and they hold well.

For $9.00 a pop, they ARE a bargain... find me something that puts out 2/3's of the rated torque (can't believe the advertizing for the Tower Pro's) for the same price, that work as well.

I don't doubt that the more expensive servos the big three sell are better overall, but most sport fliers don't need those expensive servos.

For planes in the .30 - 1.60 range they work quite well.

I ordered 4 of the TowerPro MG995's awhile back, and they were completely worthless, don't waste your money. Nothing against NitroModels, because I didn't by mine from them, but the servos were really, really bad. They had a bad overshoot and were much slower than my Futaba 3010's, which are a standard high torque with a slower advertised speed. I would stay away from them!!

Yup no problems with mine (SG-5010's) and I've used them in a LOT of planes now.

At 9.00/ea versus the 25.00 for the Futaba's... I'll stick with the Tower servos.

Haven't had one fail yet.
