I buy the hardware kit available from eflite that has all the screws used in it, well worth the £5 price tag $10

Things to do with your Blade CX and CX-2 receivers..
....
Bad idea!
The ESCs in the CX 4-in-1s can't handle the main motor load!
Bad smells come out!

The CX2 also comes with the aluminum upper head, the CX does not. Not sure if anyone mentioned that.
If you get the CX2, I would buy the aluminum lower head and have it on hand for when you break that.
It was the first thing I broke, tipped her over and actually broke the lower head and didn't break any blades..go figure?
But don't replace it until you break it, its a bit of a job.

I broke three lower heads, the plastic shafts for rotors to attach to is far too weak, as you said my blades would not snap the head did, so i swappeed it for alu one and no more lhs visits for that !

I did swashplate as well because my big bear claws kept breaking the plastic balls off it, again i swapped with no regrets

sorry to ask this guys,..... as it may have been covered,..but my CX2 pirouettes soooo much faster to the right, and takes around 4-5 seconds for just one to the left,....is this normal?,... I have just got my 3 in 1 replaced,..and all my trim pots and gain are set correctly,.... being co axial, should this not be equal in both directions???

This is completely normal and is just a flight characteristic of the CX/CX2.

After 2 days and 1 set of blades later, I finally got through this entire thread. Ugh, what a read.

Count me in with the very happy CX2 owners club. Only thing I've upgraded is the swash and lower rotor assembly with the aluminum stuff. Only broke one set of blades after about 8 flights by crashing it into myself...whoops.

Picked it up from http://www.hobbyhangarva.com/ which is only a 10 minute drive from where I live. They stock the entire E-Flite catalog which is awesome. Good for me, bad for my wallet.

I'm probably going to pick up a carbon fiber tail with a blue canopy, and an upgraded inner and outer shaft, and a new flybar later tonight.

Just finish up reading every single post in this thread.

Found great info here and I thank all of you for putting it out there to find.

I am in in the camp of mod it if it makes you happy and do so liberaly with my Cx2. I've put on Alum lower head, swash, and upper bearing cup. I also have shortened my flybar, moved my servo linkages to 3rd hole on elev. and 2nd on aler, and installed the Xtreme 180bb motors (the best money spent on this heli). I recently purchased a CF tail boom and am having a problem.

I find that the fit of the mounting plate is a little loose around the servo mount which allows the boom to vibrate or rattle a little. Any tips for a snugger fit?

Thanks again for all of the great info. I've only been flying helis for about 3 months and feel like I have progressed much quicker due the the great advice here. Keep it coming

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it in this thread or any other on the CX, but we have found that you should use the same mold number on the upper or lower blades. Seems to be enough difference between blade molds to throw off things a bit. I am talking about the small mold ring on the inner top of each blade half. Has a mold ring with number inscribed in it. If your blades are a #3 they should both be #3 on the top. The bottoms can be say a #2 but they both should be the same across from each other. Does not make any difference as far as being the same upper and lower just side to side. They also seem to have put the number outside this mold ring on some blades. We have been able to correct many flight issues with making sure the blades are the same.. Hope this helps.

You are right, both blades in a pair should have the same number. Also, if you have tail spin you can''t adjust out, try changing either set of blades to ones from a different mold.
