hey tinchao... i was not going to but the cx2 but got mine for $159.00 plus free shipping, could not pass that up. the cx was my first bird so thats why it has the bling on it. i will put a alumn inner shaft on the cx2 the first time it breaks. the cx2 sounds alot smoother than the cx. and you get the spektrum tx. i like them both but the cx2 wins.

Hi, guys

I have a question about my CX2 "Nose Yaws Right". This is what happen, the heli was doing fine, until I had a few hard landing and hit the blade, I inspected the blade, not much to no damage, as least I can not see anything, nothing seems wrong. When I fly again, the CX2 nose yaws right, I put the rubber trim all the way to the left and it still yaw right. I read the menu, open up the heli, adjust the main motor proportinal Mix trimmer pot by increasing spinning of the upper main rotor blade and it is doing fine now. No yaw.
My question is - some thing happen when I hit the blade, it is so small that I can not see what' wrong, but I want to find out what causes the heli to "Nose yaws right" after and impact.
I figure the more I can learn about the concept, it will help me understand more and easy to indifiy the damage parts or problem down the road.
Any body and help??

mine yaws left. ANy solutions? Fully turn pot to the right and trim on remote but still yaws left.

A warning for all those considering removing the case for the 4-in-1 to solve the tail drift thing.
If you do this mod DO NOT fly w/o the front body half on.
I wrecked yesterday so as part of the rebuild I decided to remove the case from the 4-in-1 and stick the boaard to the mainframe. I figured that it would keep the 4-in-1 cool and save some weight too. Well after the rebuild I took it out for a test flight w/o installing the new body front. Well the mod did solve the tal drift but a sudden gust nose dived the heli into the side walk. Not a thing broke EXCEPT for about 1/8 inch of a corner of the circut board. Well that corner had a chip on it and thats in itsy-bitsy pieces now and I need a new 4-in-1.
I think with the next one I'll just put up with the tail drift.

Hi, Johnnycat500

$159 + free shipping for a new CX2!!! That is cheaper than the price of a CX in Hawaii I pay $189 for CX2. According to the LHS, the CX will drop to $169

I agree with DaveG55, remove the front and fly is not save. If I really need to take care the heat problem, I will drill holes instead.

Great tinchao! Nice...

OK, once again, the CX/CX2 are really indoor helis. See my previous post about translational lift.

Turning one way or the other, prop. pot unable to adjust: This is most likely a gear binding--just a bit too tight and the motor can't overcome the friction. Check your gear backlash carefully at several places around the gears. The _tightest_ spot should have about .004 inch backlash. Set this by wedging a piece of typing paper between the pinion and the big gear, tighten down the motor, then eject the paper by turning the gear.
If both motors have the same amount of backlash on their gears and neither is too tight anywhere around the gear, you should be able to get the heli to stop spinning with the prop. pot somewhere near the center.
This of course assumes no binding in the shafts either, and a fresh battery.

Heat problems: The CX2 was supposed to have solved this issue --a major selling point-- so I would suspect something else wrong first. But if you think it is overheating, there is a bunch of info available on other threads about various things people have tried to fix it. I have tried all of them and more. By the time you finish trying all the "fixes" you will be such a good CX/CX2 pilot that you will just give it whatever rudder it needs to perform, and you won't even notice the trim changes anymore.

If you insist on flying outdoors in any breeze at all, position the heli downwind of you (wind at your back). If you fly with the heli upwind of you, it will eventually get blown over your head behind you, and you will lose orientation and crash. With it downwind, at least this one crash mode is eliminated.

Guess how I found out all this stuff...

After 8 successful indoor filghts I decided to fly #9 in my backyard. Along came a gust of wind, I started to drift toward my fence so I climbed to about 15 feet . I cleared the fence, but I set it down in a high patch of grass which bent the fly bar and broke the plastic off the top of the inner shaft, and cracked the lower blades. Luckily the hobby shop had all the parts I needed, I upgraded to the aluminun bearing and shaft. I put everything back together and it's as good as new. I'll upgrade the lowers after my next lawn mowing attempt.

Hmmm-starting to see the common links now? Fly outside, wind, gust, crash, buy more parts.
All these crashes are pilot error crashes--nothing wrong with that exactly, the hobby shops love it, but still...
It gets old after a while. Wait until you get a heavier, controllable-pitch helicopter to fly outside, in anything but absolute calm conditions.
Or you will crash.

Guess how I found out all this stuff...

Just got my Blade CX2 tonight! First evening I have ever tried to fly a Heli.. Granted it's not the difficult CP models, but it was still challenging and I was having a riot.

After following the trim instructions I can hover it pretty well in a 5x5ft area, but still need quite a bit of practice.

I installed a carbon fiber tailboom that I purchased from a fellow name "Stersman" on ebay and I am very impressed with the look and such.

Here is a pic of the the latest addition to my collection!

Hi Everybody,

I am looking for a contra-rotating heli, but I am not sure which one is the most stable.
Walkera 5#4, Hirobo XRB SR, or Blade CX2?

My main concern at this point with the CX2 is that it looks like I won't be able to use another rc transmitter than the E-flite that comes within the box. Does anybody know if it is possible to make it work with the Specktrum transmitter?

Cheers,
Turlu

The CX2 has a spektrum system already--I would like to know if it will bind to a stock DX6 or DX7 tx too.
Nice tailboom hunter306! Looks sharp.
