Today was DEAD CALM outdoors - I picked up a dead leaf and it dropped straight down - that means CX2 time!
In a parking lot behind work, I had some clear space and totally zero wind - I got over 30 ft of altitude and bested my top speed. Very fun and in total control the whole time!
I really got a hoot from blowing the leaves around the parking lot! The tiny leaves formed patterns from the downdraft and with the larger dead leaves I could 'play soccer' by using the draft to push them around in any desired direction. I was scooting around just fine and able to maintain a constant 1 foot or so of altitude. Very fun!
Then I came home and after dinner, expended two more full charges flying around in the community club house. Big indoor area used for Friday Night Bingo and weekend weddings and aniversaries, zero wind, and plenty of tables to land on! Had a really good time yet again!
Two minor mishaps: After sliding onto a table trying to land, the CX2 slipped too much and was going over the edge!! Certain doom awaited unless I stabbed the throttle and simply went up and self-corrected!! COOL!
Then later, somehow I went stupid and let the CX2 hop over me and get right behind my legs! Could not see it so I dumped the throttle to zero and the blades had spun down a bit before hitting my pants leg harmlessly. No damage, no problems. Whew!
I am getting better with the little CX2 and had a ton of fun landing on coffee tables tonight! Great way to learn!

Anyone replaced their stock blades with the aluminum Microheli blade grips and blades? I upgraded my CX-2 with all the Microheli aluminum parts and could not get it trimmed out what so ever. The blades seem so flimsy that I suspected it as the problem. Put the stock blades back on and left all the other aluminum parts and it's back to hovering like it did before. What a shame.... They looked so nice

NIGHT FLYING!!!
It was really cold outside, but DEAD CALM!! Around 9PM or so I went out and put up a couple camp lanterns and flew around the semi-enclosed car wash area down the street from my house.
The little orange nose light in the 4-in-1 unit was occasionally the only thing I could see!!
I want to hook up the 5th channel to a couple LEDs to light the thing up. The plastic skin is so thin the LEDs could be easily mounted inside.
The cold weather meant the engines stayed nice and cool - went through two consecutive batteries and the engines (with optional heatsink) were just warm enough to keep my finger tips thawed.
This morning - almost DEAD CALM again!! And cold!
Well I decided that I was not getting enough 'control swing' from the servos, so before flying this morning I carefully moved the control rods to one hole out from the factory placement (innermost hole #1) on the servo arm to hole #2. I had to carefully drill out the holes a bit to allow the control rods to push in, and made real sure it was still snug.
I now have a little more pitch authority and can fight off a super light wind (close to walking speed, that is. Any faster breeze will push the little CX2 somewhere bad REAL FAST) where I could not before! Top foward speed has increased about 20%.
Now I have to be a bit more subtle on the sticks but my CX2 has a bit more agility!! DIGGIN IT!!!

Watch out for flybar/lower blade strikes and interblade strikes on abrupt control inputs. These are the worst crashes, especially if you are up and have some momentum. Use a tiny little esc like a gws 100, disable its
