If you are very comfortable flying a trainer, the Kyosho Sport for 40 engines would be a good choice. Easy to take off and land and extremely easy to build. Unless you have completely mastered a trainer, however, don't be too eager to rush into a low wing. My friend had a lot of luck with an easy sport. This is almost a trainer, and yet is capable of lots of manuevers when the flyer is ready. Hope you have lots of luck. Try to be patient on your advancement.

I would say the answer to your question somewhat depends on the amount you want to spend and what kind of flying you want to do!

First choice: Start flying every day with an electric foamy aerobatic aircraft. You can whip these out and fly them in the parking lot at work...all up plane and a few batteries will run you about $400...about the same price as a glow plane...but you'll learn so much more and do aerobatic maneuvers easily with the best of these lightweight foam wonders.

You can fly the Ikarus Shockfliers outside in wind...no problem! Most of those can be flown indoors or out, so you'll have a ball, fly more often and really hone your skills. The best part is, the airframe itself (no electronics) is less than $45, so after a while if it gets a little worn you can get another one and transfer over the same electronics! Nice.

Second choice: If you want to stay with glow (you should get a foamy too) then this is one of the best aerobatic planes in the .40 class I know about, an Edge 540T by Pacific Aeromodel. This thing tracks straight and is a breeze to fly and land, yet will allow you to progress to flying any manuever in the book...even all the 3D aerobatics!

Good luck with your choice...I am sure everyone would like to know what plane you end up choosing!!!
