So let me confirm... You have to have your transmitter on while using AFPD?

What is the general concensus here. I would prefer to use my own transmitter than using the cheap one that comes with it...

I would recommend that you get the interface version of AFPD, which allows you to use your own radio and it's built in programmable functions e.g. dual rates, mixing, expos, etc. Yes the radio needs to be on while using AFPD, and depending on your radio type and adapter cable design, the radio may switch on automatically when you plug in the adapter into your radio. Some radios will also automatically disable the radio transmission when you plug the adapter in, so you will not need to remove the crystal or module. With the transmission disabled, the Tx battery will last a long time with the sim. Which radio do you plan to use?

I have a new 9C Futaba... I guess I can call them unless you know the characteristics of the model... To see if it turns off the transmission automatically...

Choose the AFPD interface version that comes with the adapter for newer Futaba radios http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/onlineshop/usa/index.php?sid=ffb8b9fbc5df9e4eb150c91961ebd2d2&cl=details&cnid=7e04371b718ca8412.53584109&anid=d4a451cd3a5bafcd4.95070797 The same adapter can be used with JR radios too

Question? Do you need a nine pin plug in the back of the computer or can it be used with USB?

Here's a shot of an Extra 330 that I repainted to match the 3D HobbyShops Extra 300 SHP. I love AFPD, great sim.

God Bless!

Curious, what happened to the additional posts that were on this thread including the ones I left? Are we not aloud to tell someone that we favor one sim over another?

Jay

They are nice planes but do they have the flight characteristics as the real RC Plane...
I also fly the Microsoft FSX simulator and they flight just like the actual scale plane..
Just curious... I am a AFPD Newbie.
