i went with the 5700 for two reasons:
1. it faster than a 4600 and is better suited for the weight range of the pede, the
7700 is more for buggies, stadium trucks and touring cars.

2. i already have 2 of the 7700s and wanted a 5700 so i could stick it in the other vehicles and run a 3s lipo

how hot did you get on that gearing?
i really pushed mine when i ran it last time. the motor was about 190 and the esc i think was about 150-160. i was running i think 22/83. i will defiantly gear down the next time..maybe. if running the big talons i will, but running the anacondas or buggy tires, then prolly not.
I am hoping to get to run the pede with a 8k mah 3s lipo and buggy foam tires over the holidays...now that should be one fast moving pede.

How do you keep your front wheels on the ground? :P

Sleepy taught me to flip the wheelie bar.

Sleepy's Stampede is definitely a nitro killer.

Sleepy, I run a 23 pinion and the stock spur which is >???? but yea, temps are about 172-178 on the motor and 155ish on the ESC.

With six cells, it's about ten degrees lower but with 8, it heats up; but with the power and speed, it's worth the heat.

Sleepy, you're my idol man. The Stampede shell puts all other shells to shame. I freakin' love it.

You have 2 7700s already? Wow.

By the way, I am finally getting a 7700 in the mail and am going to put it into this thing:

(TC4):

^^

By the way, Sleepy, the foams are genius.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nice tc4.

yeah i bought the 7700 when it first came out and put it in another custom truck and sold the brushless out of it. i then bought the tc4 and a 7700 for it and sold a brushless t4 and then bought the 5700 for the pede and to swap to the others for high speed running.

the foams are for onroad only as are the anacondas. i plan on running the talons and buggy tires offroad. dont worry, she will get dirty but not a whole lot cuz there is limited terrain around my house.

my truck also ran hot,but i was running 22/83 on it which was a bit too much..i think motor temp was about 187.

with a wheelie bar flipped down, the pede can be held somewhat in control. i still had wheelie issues and need to add some weight up front.

hey, this is my attempt to revive the brushless stampede thread...

i am in the process of securing a new xl-5 stampede. i am going to immediately remove the motor and esc for a mamba max system. my question is about which one to get. i am trying to find info between the 5700 and 7700....now that there is a 6900 i might get that. does the 5700 have more torque than the 7700? is that the difference?

thanks

I have officially joined the mamba brushless crowd! now I need a cool body for my pede (prefer one already painted)....

the wide body conversion does it really make a big difference in the handling? I'm gonna be able to adjust the preformance of the motors on the esc, i can't wait!

now I have to upgrade the radio tx/rx and make myself a custom wheelie bar....anyone have a great idea on how to stop the tires for ballooning so bad?

i don't know if it would work with the 2.2 tires or not...never tried. but with revo tires you can duck tape them. i did that to mine and it worked great.

a widening conversion makes a huge difference. really helps you corning and get aroudn without flipping.
the foams on that pic are actually for 1/8th buggies. i used them with new era adapters, but i am also running a full jato suspension?driveshaft conversion

are the jato suspension parts a direct fit? did you do the wide pede conversion or do something like a jato suspension swap and make it sit lower and wider? i wouldn't have imaged that a wider pede could help with the balloning tyre problem!

custom conversion, nothing is a direct fit. and no, the widening doesnt do anything for ballooning, just handling
