Hey, does anyone with the mm5700 in their pede have high motor temps? I ran mine at the college parking lot yesterday. I was doing some WOT speed runs, but mostly I was only at WOT after I started out slowly with only a few rolling wheelies. After running it about 15 minutes, the motor temps were 190+ degrees F measured with emissivity set on 77E with Duratrax temp gauge. It never got up to 200 dF, but I think that it could possibly go up that high depending on how I drive it. I'm geared 16/86, and I'm using a 6-cell IB3600 stick pack with Deans for connectors. The ESC got up to about 127-128 dF (77E), and the battery was 147 dF (95E) at the end of the run. My slipper is set correctly at a just barely over 1/4 turn out from fully tight. Outside temps were in the high 80's to low 90's. Can someone check out my settings and tell me what I can do to lower the temps a little without gearing down? I don't think my gearing is the problem because I'm running it on-road. Also, there is no binding in the drive-train or wheel bearings. Thanks for any help. Here's my Mamba Max ESC Castle Link settings: Brake/Reverse type - Proportional w/o reverse Brake - 30% Drag Brake - 10% Punch Control - 80% Start Power - Low Motor Timing - Lowest Voltage Cut-Off - No voltage cut-off Motor Type - Brushless I'm using the stock (default) throttle/brake curves. EDIT: I got rid of my over-heating problem by making a few changes to the esc settings, while still using 16/86 gearing. After some research I found that with the stock 4.625" Talon tires and 16/86 gearing, the motor efficiency is closer to 100% than any other gearing. More efficiency = less heat. So I knew there was no improvement to be made there. By disabling the drag brake to 0% (default setting), and setting the punch control to 100%, I knocked off 13-14 degrees F at the motor after doing 15 minute WOT speed runs with an IB4200 6-cell. Only braking to turn around and bring the 'pede back the other way. I did the same exact thing with my old settings (listed above) while using an IB3600 6-cell, and the temps were higher. No other changes were made except I dropped the charge rate from 4.5A to 4A. Outside temps were only +/- 5 degrees different on each day I ran the test. Hopefully this helps someone.
