Now, just to simplify things, I'm starting this thread for brushless pedes only. The brushed ones can be on the other thread.

I just iinstalled a 5700 Mamaba Max but found out the ESC was defective due to irregular response and ESC overheat.

I am about to make the leap to the Li po side. Now, in your opinion, how much better has lipo technology been for you?

I just bought three 8 cell 3800s for my pede but want to switch over. Is the fact that lipo batts are so light prove to harm the Stampede's performance?

In a way, are my eight cells better than 2-3 lipos?

Thanks guys and I can't wait to get a new non defective Mamba max!!!

a lipo on a 5700 in the pede will absolutely scream. i was running some race pack 6 cells and it pretty quick, but nothing compares to the lipo. the lipo weight svaings plus voltage really makes the difference.
either way you decide to run your pede, mounting the battery under the chassis really really helps the handling.

Alright im lookin to go brushless.

Im tryin to decide what set up to go with. Seems like the most popular is maba 5700.

Whats the difference between mamba 5700 and 7700? Is it that much better than novak SS5800 to be worth the extra money?

Of the 5700, 7700, and ss5800, which is the best?

I have heards the ss5800 is a good motor in the pede, but performance wise the mambas would be better.

the ss5800 is like buying a honda civic, the mamba is like buying a f1 race car.
the 5700 will run on 3s lipo whereas the 7700 is limited to a 2s lipo

i have both, both are awesome, you wont be disappointed either way.

i think i might hold out for a 5700 rather than the SS5800.

What is the big deal about lipo? is it just another type of battery thats got more voltage than nimh?

If you go with a brushless system in a pede, you might want to do a wide pede conversion also cause it might roll and flip over a lot without one...

ya know, i think i might like this thread once it gets going.
I might be able to call this one home since the other thread is so big and i really only know/care about brushless setups.

I'm working my hardest to get a 5700 system for my pede!

I gotta figure out what to sell though.. either my PSP System or a spare HP NC4000 laptop :P

LHS has 3 5700's in stock, they've been sitting on display for a couple of weeks now, not a single one sold yet, and I go in there at least twice a week to drool a little.

i think this is going to be a good thread to. it might be cool to get some sort of database or table put together showing what speeds ppeople are reching with certain gearing and certain motors. maybe put together a FAQ about mroe basic questions so people dont as the same questions over and over again (like i seem to be doing...)
