Hi guys, i would like your advice....

i am thinking to buy the RPM front & rear A arms and also the bumper (short). Are these aftermarket items good (better than the Hpi composite A arms)?

also, according to your experience what spare parts i should buy in order to have a small stock in case of breaking something?

Since i live in Greece and it is not so easy to get HPI parts i wondered to order some from Ebay....

Thanks

id say the rpm parts are a very good upgrade i myself have all the rpm stuff on my storm.  one bashing day my battery came unpluged at full throttle and inturn wanted to go kiss a curb at 45mph once home i was very happy to find out i only broke 4 things.  the upper deck got bent (crumple zone)  the front bulkhead and servo saver broke and i bent few screws after that im very happy with rpm.  as to spare id pick up the front bulkhead and maybe the screws that hold the shocks to the towers i seem to bend them all the time.  maybe a spare bottem chassis after about 2 gallons for me mine was so eatin from rocks and botteming out it needed replacing.  i have spare shock towers after people saying to grab a set and yet to need them BUT the one 150% must have in my mind for the car is to upgrade the clutch the stock one is a POS

Maybe an MT2 tank will fit should thinks so they always use parts that fit other cars when manufacturing.

Hi i finally got the RPM optonial arms (haven't installed yet) and i'm searching for a pair of good trction rear tires.

So, which tires do you suggest? I was lloking for the Gladators or the dirt Hawgs.

Actually i run only on hard dirt, not on grass or asphalt.

Also is the front stock tires or any other tires (proline's?) that have these straight lines better (for front) than the tires that we put for rear?or it is better to have both front and rear the same type of tires?

Hi, i have a problem when doing jumps (silicone leak from the bottom of the shock body - from the shaft not the cap) and i was wondering if anyone can help or suggest a good optional shock set.

Maybe Integy or ST RC ?

Thanks

Don't buy the Integy ones I got them not a good shock absorber. Too much resistance on the rubber seals for me and the shaft wobbles too much. Springs are abit tight and you don't get the right parts to fit them on the firestorm I had to try and bodge them up. Standard ones are better. Of it is leaking check the shaft is straight you might have a bent shaft. If not it will just be the o rings worn out unscrew the bottom of the shock body to get them out.

I liked the team STRC stuff on my firestorms and blitz but changed to the Blitz ESE shocks and like them a lot more.  If I was going to buy shocks today I would get the proline  power strokes.  You need an adapter kit for it.

I already hate my Firestorm after day one lol. I got through 2 break in tanks and the throttle servo is messed up. It will only operate if I pust on the throttle arm after pulling the trigger on my radio. Now I have to wait for up to 3 weeks for a new servo (which I had to pay for).

Most important thing to know about is the clutch. Get yourself a clutch with 3 shoes I got the Integy one fits right on. The original one will have the spring snap. Second thing I would do is get some decent arms heard the RPM ones are good I got the Integy ones now not tested how good they are though. But don't get the hot racing or blizzard ones the rear ones dont fit right and the axles grind on them. The original rear arms on mine would flex on landing jumps and lock the shock shaft against the shock body tight and can make the shock shafts bend. The front ones for me were just a little weak. Put some lock tite on your servo saver or CA glue because they come loose with vibration and you will loose alot of steering at speed. Maybe a good idea to put some diff oil in the diff too to stop the car pulling to one side so much on take off due to the engine being on one side. Oh and on landing jumps the muffler can make the engine bog down and you need to pump the throttle a bit to get it to pickup on landing. Watch out on damp grass you can get water in the battery box. And check every now and again the throttle arm has not slipped. That's pretty much all I've learned from owning mine before I went and built a new one. Gearbox and diff are bullit proof on these cars the plastic spur lasted about 6 months on mine maxed out on speed with a 21 tooth clutchbell 23 was too big. And standard supension is great no need to upgrade really maybe slightly longer travel on the rear would be good though. Hope this helps

Hi! I own an HPI Firestorm and it is great.
It has the FLUX brushless system, 2 venom batteries, battery charger, 2 painted bodies, an extra set of red beadlock Pro-Line tires, remote controller, and various other upgrades.
I am looking in selling it. I would gladly send you pictures!
Email me at:    jango257@hotmail.com        With your questions and offers.
Thanks!

Hi,

does anyone knows the dimensions for the engine bearings (Hpi G3.0 engine)? Hpi doesn't sell them separately but only with the case.

Thanks

I just did a quick search and didn't really find anything on the bearing size. Personally I would scrap it and put a 3.3 on there and call it a day.

You can get them seperate I got a set for the engine I had in mine there is a rear bearing on that famous auction site for the .18SS engine pretty sure it is the same engine as the G3.0 just has the holes in the bottom of the crankcase for direct mounting to the chassis you would have to check the part number though. Get the bearing size m8 because you can buy them alot cheaper than HPI will supply them for.
