the mt2 is 4wd, much easier to control and operate, the firestorm is much faster seeing as it has a 18 instead of a 15 motor, and less weight

I have flown it thru the air, and have been very rough with it thus far, and all I broke was the front bulkhead once, I was sliding around on my road just after a rain so the road was slick....I spun around and the front arm hit the edge of my flower box, it only scraped the arm...and I was going pretty fast too...so yes they are very durable.

I am designing a rear bumper to take place of the battery box, I'll post pics when thats done...

Check the plug, if its ok then set all the needles back to factory, pull the air filter and check the idle screw gap, set it to 1mm or a little under 1/16....

Did you check the temp once it died, did you make sure the tank lid was sealed (pushed down)...I am very happy with this motor so far, very easy to tune, holds a tune...

How is the new 3.0 engine? Is it reliable? Easy to tune? How does it compare to the ease of OS engines?

I am very happy with this motor so far, very easy to tune, holds a tune...

I have owned 2 O.S. 15 motors and I couldn't get them to hold a steady tune, constantly adjusting something, and we are talking steady 75 degree days...the os 18tm motor I used to have on my revo lasted about 9 gallons but it held a tune rather good....

Honestly you shouldn't need to replace this motor any time soon, unless you want more POWER....I doubt I will be upgrading this motor before it goes on me, unless I get a hell of a deal, I'm happy.

Ok i know this is probably a common question but Firestorm owners, how do you like your truck?. Is it strong & durable?. Whats it like at the track? how does it handle?. Does it break every 5mins like my mt2 lol. If i had one i would mainly be bashing & racing it every sunday at a bash meeting we have (about 20 guys). I really want one and for the price i cant say no. I would just change the radio gear. Cheers. And people if you have pictures post them up i want to see your firestorms .

btw i see someone mention a 2speed?. Is this true, would 2 speed be able to fit on the firestorm?.

I gatta tell ya, I really like the Firestorm. It handles really good for a RTR and this thing just gets it out of the corners. It's been really durable so far. To my knowledge there is no two speed avalible yet, but the powerband on this motor I don't really see a need for it on the track. Maybe for bashing.

yeah 2 speed is not needed on the track i agree. Thanks for the info rdt45. I am thinking of getting one but using my lrp z.18s pro and keep that until it needs a rebuild. Or i might just sell the hpi engine that comes with the truck

They have a lime green and a blue body also. Looking foward to getting a couple of clear bodies to paint up. I really didn'y see any need to change the engine, this thing holds a tune great and really rips.

sure, you have to almost every time....I give all my trucks a quick tune before I start to run them, everything effects them, humidity, temp....you might find a sweet spot that gives a pretty good tune all the time in that spot, but you could be running too lean or rich...it only takes a second, even if its a major pain everytime, its the difference in life span of the motor...

Well I got my firestorm yesterday. I got it all broken in, and on the third tank of break in the brake disc broke in half! So, I glued it back together with some CA glue and that was fixed for now. So I go run it for the fourth tank and i proceed to run it. After about 2 minutes the car stops moving and just revs. So as I am mad, I pull apart the tranny and the diff and find that one of the gears have been broken into many pieces. I am still satisfied with how it drove, but mad at what broke.
