HI Guys,

I got a quote from A123 systems saying that I can build my own pack to use in my T-rex 600CF, so I was just wondering if there are anyone that have done this, and how it performs? How would this pack compare to the Flightpower pack for instance? Also, if there is such a person out there, I am interrested to find out how you charge it, seeing that it will be a 7S3P pack, and I know most chargers only do 6s or 8s....

Other than that these cells really looks promising, and the key factor for me would be the recahrge time, together with the high amp rating that us heli addicts need...

Hope to hear from someone soon!

Cherio!

Johan

A 6S LiPoly charges to 25.2 volts. A 7Cell A123 charged as a 6S LiPoly will be 3.6 volts per cell.

There is a whole Thread on A123s in helis on RC Groups

HI Johan.
I've been thinking about puting A123"s into a TRex 600 as well. I am going to try 8S2P because I have read that it is easier to harvest an 8S out of a Dewalt pack. This allows me to use the manufactured tabs that come straight out of the pack. I think this would be a better route because you would only use 16 cells and not 21 that you would find in a 7S3P. Without the additional weight you may not need the additional mah. Just my .02
