Hi Everyone,

I have a framed up Top Flight Gold Edition Corsair with Robart retracts that has been sitting in my shop for the last 5 years waiting for a power plant to be installed. Has anyone done an electric conversion or recommend a motor/esc combo for this warbird as I'm not really interested in finishing it with a glow powered motor.

Thanks in advance

Mark

Your biggest pmroblem is going to be a high wing loading. These planes were not designed for electrics but for glow and the structure had to be robust, read heavy, to handle the stresses of glow engines. You might have to substitute lower flight times and go for minimum of batteries to keep the weight down for more sparkling performance. I had a glow version of this airplane with all the bells and whistles and it flew very well. Norm

Gas fallacy! mine came in at 9 1/4 pounds. Not much more than wet, I believe. It actually was a bit of a floater.

Thanks guys for you help on this project. Looks like I am going to use the AXI 4130/16 set up with FlightPower 4900 6s1p packs and get my Corsair ready for our airshow this summer.

With a 16 x 10 that setup will give you about 10 pounds of thrust....and that's a relatively light setup. Give us some pics!

My TF Gold Sea Fury flies gangbusters with the AXI 4130/16. I fly it on 24x3300 NiMH cells so it's even heavier than yours will be on LiPOs. Go for it. I have trouble getting it slowed down enough to land, it wants to float. Wt:12lbs. Tex.
