I seem to be all over the place with the Electra star. I'm over correcting I guess. The buddy box we are using can't be adjusted the same as my Estar so I'm on 100% I did move the push rod in on the servo's and adjusted to low rate.
    I have made 4 flights.

Heres a photo of the Beaver.

    Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, and what brougt me here is that I am looking to buy the Electristar. I have a Traxxas 7.2V Villain boat and was wondering if my 7.2V 3300mAH NiMH batteries will work for this plane (i have two battery packs)?

    Thanks for any info.

Hey Crash, maybe try to move your CG a tad forward, might make it easier to control.

FDuce, what kind of connectors are on your batteries, and what are the measurements?

They have the Tamiya style connector, so I would have to get the adapters. They measure 5.25" long X 2" wide X 1" high.

It sounds like you are flying at the high rates and that will cause you to over correct. Adjust your rates at the transmiter to rudder 65% elavator and ailerons to 50% and chunk that buddy box. If you can fly that cub you can fly that e-star.....and don't be drinking that stuff on the table before you fly............ha ha
Oh yea that beaver looks great ,send more pictures.

I do not know about the 7.2v batteries, it requires at least 8.4v 3000 mah. That is what i am using and they seem to work good. About 9 min flight on 1/2 to 3/4 thorttle.

I use the electra-fly packs you can find them for 25-30 bucks. I will tell you one thing do not buy any batteries from all-battery.com they are cheap and do not work.....

They would be at the very bottom of the range of voltage for this plane. I use two electrifly 7.4v lipo batteries, so together they work fine. I'm not sure if they would have enough "oomph", plus the C-rating might not be high enough to supply this motor without overheating... Do you know what the rating is?

I think your right. I did move the rear battery all the way back and the 2nd battery all the way forward. I was also thinking the same thing. It flew fine with the Lipo.
I'll make sure I check the CG better next time.

    Hey glen

Thats great, but kinda windy. I like those under 10 mph days my self. I clicked your video and it wouldn't work. Check it out.

Well i got me 2 more sets of the eletra-fly 3000 mah packs. As soon as the weather gets better down here i 'll be
    ready to go.
Still hadn't flown the sportster yet. Waiting on a real calm day for the maiden.

When are you going to maiden the Beaver????????

Just got back from putting two A123 packs through the Electristar. Now I know people have asked how fast does the E-Star go so I put my GPS into the the radio bay at the balance point and went flying. The wind was blowing 20km/h gusting to 30km/h. The top speed recorded by the GPS was 125km/h . That was with the wind so around 100km/h or 62mph with tha A123 5s1p pack would be the top air speed. Because of the wind I was flying at or very close to full throtle and I got 9 min air time per battery. I flew to just over 400 feet above the ground at one point and climbed to that altitude from 20ft in 29 seconds. I was using 1200x800 feet of flying area and during the 2 batteries the E-Star traveled just over 12km. I was surprised at the results as the E-Star always looks like it's floating around up there.

    Wow fastguy, that's awesome info.

How much voltage is the A123 battery fully charged?
