Great price on the charger did you get locally or online? I am very interested in a 3 cell pack of the a123 batteries for my sporster ep. My question is does the astro charger
balance the packs are just charge. I hear some people say you do not have to balance??????????

Yes you will need a n astro blinky for A123 for balancing. It was on sale at our LHS. Also the 109 will need and upgrade chip for A123 it's about $19.95. Glen

Hey Glen .....I guess i better not be talking took the e-star up this morning wind about 6-8 mph out of the north. took off no
problem flew around, did some loops. Then the wind started to pickup and trying to change direction. So i thought i would go
ahead and land. bad ideal came in and i let her stall. She came down on the nose gear pretty hard made big balnace before she rested in the
field beside the street. Only damage is the nose gear bent way back. I think i can fix that.

    Have a good one
    Alan

    I hate the wind.....

    Hi Alan

Yea I''ve done that before It bends back, just make sure you remove it before you bend it. I replaced the set screw with a ball head and filed a flat spot on the spring so the wheel stays put.

I flew my E-star 3 times yesterday with my instructor. I''m getting close to making my solo. The last flight we had a 10mph cross wind which made landing very tricky. had it not been for the buddy box I would have bent something for sure!
I also flew the Super Cub 9 times!

I should have my A123 batteries sometime this week.

Glen, with the A123s the E-Star is going to feel like a whole new plane. You will be surprised with the flight times you get and how much lighter and nimble it feels. Also a good increase in power and shorter take offs. Good luck on the solo.

    Hi Fast guy

I can''t wait to try the A123 I''ll have three packs so that should be good the keep both my E-star and the E-flite Beaver in the air.
I picked up an astroflite 109 charger on sale $70 ! also got the chip for A123 and an astro blinky balancer.

I have a 4cell 3200 lipo and I sure like flying with it better than the heavy 7 cells! if the A123 is even better I''ll be a happy camper!

Yea good ideal on filing a flat spot on spring. I took her back up yesterday evening. She is hard to land, i am landing on a paved street and i kept comming
into fast. luckly the street was long i manage to get her down ok. Just need to practice on those landings. Flew the cub about 3 flights no problem there.

Yea I can fly around fine but the landings are tricky!

I switched my E-star over to 2.4 also got another DX6i and a buddy cord. Now I can fly the beaver on a buddy box with my instructor.
Also got my A123 batteries. I remove rd the front hoop to get CG. Put on 3 1/2" wheels for the soggy grass I land on.
I'll post a flight report tomorrow weather permitting
