    Thanks for the info. That's the problem with these posts, some are so long it takes forever to read them all and some info is repeated over and over with the same redundant answers. At least I didn't ask the most popular one...new to the hobby, which plane
    is a good starter plane.

    I'll go back and read them all alittle at a time. Thanx

    Status: offline     		No long story from me. Just wanted to post a quick thanks to everyone on RCU.

    I joined a local flying club in the Nashville area this past March. MPRCF.....fine bunch of guys. Just took my check flight yesterday evening and can finally go to the field and fly myself. Seems like a long time now that I think about it but I wasn't in a rush, just want to enjoy this to the fullest. I've read tons of threads on all kinds of interesting topics, and most have been quite informative if not comical at times.

    I'd like to credit all you guys, an excellent instructor and my Electristar with teaching me. Darn fine trainer plane IMO. She's a keeper. All the helpful people here have furthered my understanding of flying RC. Thanks! Now..........what's a good second plane?? Just kidding, I've got my eye on plane 2a, 2b and 2c if I can get the woman in my life to free up the green.

    I agree !


    I soloed yesterday at 50 years young. The e star imo
    is a great first plane. IMO the lipo is a must for this plane.

    Status: offline     		Good job Bob! Love my E-star! After learning with the E-star I moved up to the E-flight Beaver then the Hangar9 80" Piper Pawnee.
    When conditions are to windy for my other planes I fly the E-star. With the E-star watch out for changing wind conditions. I switched out the receiver for a 2.4 system this allows some aileron to elevator mix and other features not available with the stock system.

    I would highly recommend the E-star to anyone.

    What trim setting are you guys using on the
    throttle ??


    I noticed none of the instructors at my field
    never touched the trottle trim. These same
    guys fly mostly glow or gas and not EP.

    This was all during my time on the cord btw.

    Status: offline     		i just leave mine centered. the gas guys have theirs set up to the up position so then can pull the trim tab all the way down to stall the motor, but electricts don't have to do that.

    Status: offline     		Since the EStar is my first plane and I'm not all that familiar with what they do with throttle trim on the gasers, I leave my trim @ zero. Biggest reason being that on landing, I want to be able to cut the motor off without having to search out the trim. I like to practice deadstick as well so I don't want the motor pulling.

    Now that I've said that, and knowing I'd like to try glow with my next plane, I reckon learning the trottle trim all over again will go right along with everything else that will be differant.

    I was just curious about the Throttle trim on E powered planes.
    Next time i'll try it half way, it may help a bit on the take off run?

    I tried using half throttle trim today on take offs. I didn't
    see any real difference.
