Both stunning photographs! That straight on shot really shows the precise alignment of all the flight surfaces!

I can't compete with Davis Hart, but here are some of my shots. Sorry I posted the wrong photos... I can't remove them now. It was my first post, so a little slack might be in order.

I agree but they will never convince me that those are full scale planes.....
There is a section for crashes and one for warbirds.....This is more of a test of ones' photo skills so as the aircraft looks real......you can't tell it from the full scale plane.
Thought I'd throw that in as a reminder.......nice models, though.

Not supposed to be full scale. Supposed to be models photographed in such a way as to appear to be full scale. All that is necessary is to read the original post, it's all laid out right there. The first and second photos you posted of the Dauntless would fit the theme of the thread and, in fact, that second Dauntless photo is quite good in my opinion.

Great shots on this page David, wow!

Also, the Sunset De Havilland by Goose is quite nice, followed by some cool shots from Rebel Flyer.

Here's an S.E.5 that I used some tonemapping processes along with a black and white conversion.

Hi,
how about a little compromise here: If people post pictures that fit this thread and in the same post also show some, that don't, but that do show that it is actually a model, I like that contrast. After all we're in an RC forum and while I marvel at the scle shot I also get quite curious about the model, its actual size and so on. So I think that should be accepted. However, those posts that only show little convincing pictures of little convincing models I don't like. What do you think?

Because now you've just lowered the standards of this thread down to where every other photo thread on RCU is. We ALREADY know that these are models, THATS ONE OF THE "POINTS" OF THIS THREAD. I already "compromised" earlier by allowing "detail" shots of the subject and that's fine...but now this?...
NO!!!
I hate to come of as a "thread nazi" and sound as if we "play by MY rules", but the "standards" of this thread are what have made it "THE" most viewed thread on RCU for YEARS now.
So... In an attempt to keep us on track...here we are AGAIN... The thread guidelines...
The whole idea behind me starting this thread was for guys (and gals) to post pictures of model airplanes that look like shots of actual aircraft. Not pictures that look like shots of models.
For the THIRD(up to about 10 times now) TIME. Can we PLEASE post pictures of models that look like pictures of REAL airplanes?
This means....
The airplane should be a scale model.
(What does this mean?) It means things like strut covers if the real plane had them. It means authentic looking struts, not music wire. It means a pilot in the cockpit if the picture is an Aeriel shot and the pilot would be viewable. ETC...ETC...
Secondly... The shot should be taken from a "believable angle",
or from how the "eye" would perceive it. I think this is self explanatory.
Detail shots are ok as long as it's of the subject being presented.

-Thanks again all,

-Mustang51
Ps. C'mon trolls, I know you're going to post your dumb a&^ photos now... Oh, and your "flames". Just remember... You can always go start your verry own thread...

Hi All,

Not wanting to get my nuts chewed off (again) - I thought I'd post some pictures I took when I first started using a DSLR - apologies about the quality, but they're about 5 years old. My cameras have improved slightly since then.

Happy New Year to all,
Neil

Hi Mustang,

funny if an American fears to be "Nazi" when replying to a post by a German...

But let me be a litte "Germanic" here, that is, apply the precisision that we're known for: By no means have I lowered the standard of this thread with my proposition. I have said that I don't mind seeing  pictures of model as models IF, and only IF in that SAME POSTpictures are posted, that MEET THE STANDARD: Logically this means that the standard of at least one picture has to stay EXACTLY THE SAME! How is that lowering the standard? If you can't post a picture that meets the standard, you'll still get hell by the "Thread Nazis" as you call them - rightfully so. I am just saying that if someone posts a couple of real nice scale pictures that make us believe that we're looking at a full size airplane AND then - in the next shot - reveals something else about the model taking the risk of seeing it for what it is - that'll be ok and not worth tearing apart..

Cheers, Martin
