I guess now's the time to re-post those photo requirements...

The photos should be the following...

A) The aircraft modeled must be that of an actual aircraft.

B) The model should be a "SCALE" model.
meaning...
It should look like the aircraft that is being modeled. If the real plane had strut and wheel covers... so should the model(it should'nt have music wire struts). There should be no rx antennas showing in the photo. If the real plane had a 3 or 4 blade prop, and this is a picture of that plane(model) on the ground? Then the model should have a 3 or 4 blade prop, not a Zinger 20x10. etc...etc.

Think of this as a kind of "Top Gun" of photo threads.

And finally, that brings us to the most confusing of the requirements of the photo.
...C) The photo should be "of an angle that you would actually be looking at the aircraft" or "as the eye perceives it".
...meaning...Don't post the picture of that beautiful Mustang with a guy holding it during engine run ups.

Here(above 2 posts) are two PERFECT examples of what this thread is all about.

The 262 is an aerial shot which means, there should be a pilot in the cockpit if the angle of the shot allows the cockpit area to be seen. No antenna sticking out.
Nice shot.
The 262 has always been one of my favorites.

Now the Cessna. What can I say but "WOW"!
That is truly the perfect "SCALE PHOTO". It is shot at absolutely the most perfect of angles. It looks as if you are standing there right next to the aircraft. Not to low or too high. PERFECT!

Extra points awarded for building a scale hangar with other civilian aircraft in the background. A little carried away with that one aren't you SDC?

You and Pyolet just keep setting the "bar" higher and higher.
Except Pyolet actually took his Corsair to an Island in the Pacific for that "feeling" of authenticity.

Not to mention that aerial shot of the Cub over the farm.

Nice work guys.

OK! The rest of you guys get to work, you have your mission.
The snow is melting in Germany, and I need to get my 190 there for that shot against the Alps.

Status: offline 		The Venom was a development of the Vampire, both DeHavilland designs. The Venom had the more powerful Ghost engine and had slightly swept wings. Another development of this aircraft was the Sea Venom as used by many of the worlds navies. The Sea Venom had a substantially longer nose to house various radar configurations.

Status: offline 		These are the 3 images that were composited to create the image that was considered "perfect" and "the best one yet".
Don't want to ruin it...but, fealt guilty, like I was cheatin' my buddies.
Glad the illusion succeeded. HOWEVER, this is the only shot I've posted that has been manipulated in photoshop. All other shots are raw, other than some overall adjustments of brightness, contrast and saturation, etc.
It would be nearly impossible to actually shoot a shot like this (believable size and perspective) without building a scale tarmac that covers the width of the shot, set on a table, and the far edge lined up with an expansion joint, edge of hangar floor, or some other natural break in the background. The smaller plastic model photographers got this down. They even use "force perspective" on tarmac expansion joints, etc., and depth of field focus to slightly blur the BG.
Much easier in photoshop. The final composite should always be in mind when shooting the initial subjects.

I've done a ton of the "forced perspective" shots with IPMS 1/32 scale military dioramas. That was back in the day before Photoshop!

The "pure" untouched shots are very impressive and probably what Mustang's lookin' for, but expert Photoshop work takes as much talent as expert photography and building skills... as long as you're honest (like you were) and "fess up" to it. Well done.

Ya know, I sat here, I can't tell ya how long... Trying to figure out why that photo looked so good (proportion and scale). It never dawned on me...Photoshop. EXCELLENT work ol' boy.

I'm a hairdresser, so I'm all about creating illusion.(Try taking some ugly broad and making her look good enough for some poor sap to say"I do"). THAT'S ARTISTRY! lol.
