Bob,
I think if I was to build this straight out and not do some of my mod’s that I have done I just might be done with the build or at least ready to cover. Glenn’s kits go right together and all the parts are just right there. I’m still very new to this whole build thing but with this whole build thing. I have only been flying for 5-6 years now. Glenn has put together 14 booklets of install instruction; I think I have finished 10 or 11 of them.

Mark,

Glad you are back and posting....I use one of those roll around compressors with the 25 or 30 gal tank....no help there....

The mods and extra touches that add time are what this is all about, and is what keeps things interesting...you still have four months or so to Dawn Patrol.....!!!

My only comment about small compressors (I use one from time to time) is that they can over heat and shut off. They restart when they cool off with no damage to the compressor. The problem is that sometimes it happens right in the middle of what you're doing!

I had to run off on vacation to keep the wife happy. This was her trip off to the zoo’s and to check out new places. My trip will be Dayton.
Randy,
The Mods are the fun part of building for me. I getting ready to paint my SRB Eindecker that I started in October. I wanted to wait and use it as a test subject for when I paint the Hanriot . There is still a lot of work and things I want to do on the Hanriot . I won’t be ready for painting for a bit on the Hanriot .

Bob,
Thanks I will keep that in mind when working using it, on how I use it. I plan on using it for the detail items. I talked to Gary and Getstencils.com and he gave me a price for the Eindecker they were right in line to what I wanted to pay thanks.

I think I will get one of the little compressors on order.

Thanks Mark

Mark you won't be disappointed with Gary's product. I just talked to him at length on Sat and he told me you hand contacted him.

If you have any questions about the stencils feel free to ask me ok.

Hi Mark,

Tough to build when the weather is nice.....Things are pretty quiet in the Hanriot Werks....

Here is a picture of the aileron rib bowing that we talked about way back when....I braced the wing rib here, but not the aileron side....

I saw an ad on TV the other night. It was either Rustoleum or Krylon..the product was called H2O and it is latex paint in a spray can....!! could be very interesting for scale modeling!!

Hi Randy
I see what you mean about it being pulled in. I will go back and add a support to both sides right there.
I know what you mean about the nice weather and trying to stay in to do some building. I can only say I have may it down to the field twice so far. I have been finishing up my SRB E1 kit I will post some pic’s soon of it. I wanted to get it done and up flying for a club picnic that is coming up. I am hosting a WWI show for part of the picnic. I also wanted to practice painting with the E1 so I could see the time frame and skill I would need for the Hanriot that is coming up.

This is why I have not been posting for a bit. I have just finished my SRB E1 kit, I took it to the field to do the madden flight last night and to take a few pictures. It was too windy to do the madden, but I did take a few pictures. I have done the color scheme in a Turkish Pattern. I wanted to finish this up when I was getting close on the Hanriot so I could practice painting on the E1. I still have to add a few more markings and a finial clear coat but for the most part it done and ready to be seen in public. I have to get the madden in I have a fly in over the weekend.

Hi All,
Sorry I have been away from the build. The Eindecker had a little problem on the madden flight, so there is some rebuilding of the wings. The fuse is built like a tank so it has just a little bit of work to be done on it. But the good new is that durning my time off from building I have bought my first house so it is time to move and set up the a new work shop to finish the Hanroit build. I plan on finishing it up over the winter and getting the Eindecker back up in flying status. There is a Neuport 11 that was donated to me to get back to flying condition.

Mark
