ORIGINAL: craigss11 Hi, I'm sorry I have to ask this, but I've read and reread all the pages and obviously missed it,but has anybody else had trouble with getting the horizontal stabaliser tight against the fuselage? I've tried pushing the stab.against the fuse. and redrilling and tapping the hole in the aluminum tube and then pressing it the other way and drilling that side and tapping But still I have play. I don't need to be able to remove the tail,is there any reason I can't epoxy it in? Thanks Craig, After I tapped in one of the screws into the aluminum tube, I marked the other side of the tube, thru the other stabilizer hole, with the stabilizers both pressed tightly against the fuselage (duh). But, then, when I drilled and tapped the second mark, I did it about 1/32" further inward than the mark. It took a fair amount of pressure on each stabilizer, when reinserted, to get the screw to thread into this second hole. This resulted in almost no gap at all between the fuselage and the inside ends of the stabilizers. USE BLUE LOCTITE ON THE SCREWS! As to your second question, I've never once felt the need to remove the stabilizers since installed (they don't interfere with storage or transportation), so I don't see a downside in epoxying them on except for the difficulty of later replacement if damaged.
