I transport the P-51 wing in the biggest one-piece wing bag that "Wing Totes" makes. It fits snuggly in the padded bag. It usually gets stored in the bag too, hanging in my garage. I really need to come up with a better way to transport wings rather than just jamming them in the back of the Expedition. Even in the padded bags, they can get damaged if something else falls on them. May try to copy some of your handy work !!

Id like to get a trailer actually, but, well, wife says no since she thinks it'll encourage me to get MORE planes. I dont think it'll make any difference in that regard. The only thing now is how would I fit say a PCM Me-109 102" wing in the hummer if I were to ever be able to get one. Id probably have to start strapping stuff down on the roof.

BTW, Captainron, how big and how much you lay out for the trailer? Also, what brand Corsair?

LOL...I am running into the same problem...
When I want to bring my wife and child to the field...I can barely fit everything in for a 1.20 size plane! My kid has more equipment than my plane!...and I have an Expedition!

I dont really know how I will bring my Frankie with baby and my wife..

The only way I think I can fit Frankie in..is if I stash the one piece wing along the top of the ceiling somehow.

I need a trailer too now!!

kahloq,
Just bought a small one. 8x10 Loadrunner. Cute little trailer with the drop down cargo door. Didn't want the two swing open doors. Got a close out deal on a new 05 in Pueblo for 1800.00 bucks. Ya it was a bit of a bite, but it's done and I use the heck out of it. Even the wife has found a few uses for it.

The Corsair is the old Hanger 9 60 size that I just can't seem to get dialed in. Gonna try her again this weekend it the wind decides to give us a break. Only 5 flights on it but it's still a real nail biter once she lifts off. And ya your right! the retracts are junk but I think I've got'em just about as good as you can get'em now. WE'LL SEE!

DANG! I LOVE THIS HOBBY.................................................................CAPTAIN RON.

Kahloq, believe me you can only get so many planes in a trailer. I have a 6x14 and I can only get five or six planes in there. anymore than that and you start breaking stuff.
I have a Giant Aeromaster that I can leave fully assembled plus the other planes on the racks.

I've seen a lot of guys stretch bungee cords between the coat hooks in the top left and right corners, then slide the one-piece wings over the bungees.

5 or 6 is better then 2 or three with no trailer.

I dont recall what the trailer size is, but theres a guy at our field that has one that he can carry 8 planes in it(all of them are like 30% or bigger gassers). Its not a super trailer either, but probably an 8 foot wide isntead of 6. Might also be 16 foot long, but dont remember.

No, thats what you tell your wife. You probably have that many planes so she thinks you won't be buying more just to fill it up, )

Capt'n,

I've had my H9 Corsair for over two years now with maybe 100 flights on it. What kind of problems are you having? Anything I might be able to help with?

I had to laugh at this statement. "You probably have that many planes so she thinks you wont be buying more just to fill it up"

Ok....trying to stop from laughing. Not your fault of course cuz you have no idea. In one respect, your close to right.....she may not notice new planes since she thinks I have well over 30. Actual number may be slightly lower to that, but, ummm, Here's a partial list:

H9 1.50 P-51
KMP Me-109
KMP B-25
Kyosho 90 Spitfire
VQ P-40
Kyosho Corsair
Kyosho ME-109
CMP Corsair
80" B-17
56" F-86
48" FSK B-25
48" Ripmax Spitfire
48" F-14 DF
42" Me-262
bunch of GWS, FSK, other foam type warbirds
Couple of Extra 300's and electric katana's.....
etc, etc,etc
On the build queue is a CMP Me-109 when its released and maybe a WWI 60 size Bi-plane
And then of course want a PCM or similar sized ME-109

This does not include planes that have previously gone down(listed in a prior post to make someone feel better).

Anyway...back to the trailer thing....I actually want the trailer so I can transport 8 of those on the list to the Warbirds over the Rockies show in Sept. Not thatid fly them all during the 3 day event, but some for display.

I think wife is just worried about dollar outlay for some of the planes as they get bigger. She told me that if I bought a plane over $1000, she'd divorce me. So shhhhh. I am hoping that means "buying a plane over a 1000" means the plane itself
