I got my Axe CP this past Monday and I did my first ever RC heli hover today. Used Radd's rotary flight school system this past week. I purchased the Axe because the guys at my LHS raved about how good it was. I'm hooked on RC helis now.

I just got mine tonight. great little heli. I have had it up twice so far, needs a few tweaks but i couldn't be happier with it. I am just getting started with helis, flew a coax a few times ( a friends) and ordered one soon after. I was lucky enough to order this one.
The stock bat. does not last long, but I have 2 lipos with charger on the way, so that my practice time will increase.
Question: The tail rotor does not spin until I have the throttle at about (guessing) 30%, is this normal?

the tail rotor wont egage until the gyro senses that it is need, or you input enough right rudder. but in answer to your question, yes this is normal.

hey
well i finally had my first minor crash with the axe cp

not too bad though i think it held up well was hovering in a small breeze and just over sticked it a little bit

the damage was light tail boom blade grip and tail blade that was it 30 bucks at the lhs and 45 minutes work and was back flying yesterday afternoon

this thing is a great bird for a rtf 6ch cp it actually flies well out of the box

great product

happy holidays to all and happy flying to my fellow axe cp owners

I crashed mine today for the first time. I was flying in my garage and came close to the ceiling, ( i should not have had it up that high in the first place) over reacted and cut the throttle back too far. It landed on its landing gear but the main blades bounced off of the tail boom, putting a dent in it, the rotors and breaking a blade grip. The tail boom and rotor blade can be salvaged but the grip is a gonner. I had already put 6 of them on order 2 days ago after reading about others breaking the blade grips. So hopefully they will be here soon after Christmas so that I can get this thing hovering. I have a few lipos on the way too so that I can fly this thing a little longer.
Merry Christmas

Nice vids, but OUCH!!! I know you had to be sick after that blade strike. Just the sound of it made me cringe. Know the feeling all to well. Least yours was in the air longer than mine. My grips should be in tomorrow so I should have her back in the air soon enough.

I have broken enough blades, skids, and one body to finally achieve hovering and basic flight patterns with my eFlite Blade CX2.

With very light (<5 mph) to no wind outside, I could not break ground by more than one foot flying my friends Helimax AXE CP before I over controlled its pitch and aileron to drop it on its side. After these "crashes" both of the wood main rotor blades developed small (<1 cm) cracks that I sealed with medium CA.

I observed that the servo push rods are installed at the maximum distance out on the servo connectors, which gives this high sensitivity with very quick response to control changes.

What are the suggestions or experience with moving these servo push rods to the minimum distance or two holes out on the servo connectors, which gives lower sensitivity with less response to control changes?
