Hello , Just yesterday I purchased a used but in great condition 26% Carden 300S w/o motor but w/ servos, & hope you folks who may be familiar w/ this model (no longer manufactured) can offer some info about it as the owner said he took it in on trade & never flew it. Albert, who is doing a build thread here on a 300S gave me the ph# for Carden which I'll do tomorrow but still I'm hoping there may be invaluable info from you users out there. The airframe w/ servos, tank, etc, weighs 10 lb & is 78" span X 68" long & I was hoping to use a 2.4 Brison I have, however to get it to balance anywhere near the wing tube, a ton of nose weight will be needed-----main question---does anyone know where the CG is, or how to calculate it ? I would think a formula would be typical up thru the various sizes. Also, is the 300S airframe typically tail heavy & what motor might be appropriate for this bird ? It is possible there may be lead tucked away in the tail ?? I temporiarily mounted a G62 in the nose & a ballparked CG near the wing tube would be attainable but I think HP might be overkill ?-----though I'd prefer adding more HP than lead to get CG. Hopefully someone out there may have some comments about this bird, even non-specific----& maybe why Carden discontinued it ? Thks Bob
