I have a question nitro racer. What made you want to put all the money into a no name brand instead of one of the others? I ask because back when I played a little paintball I shot an Automag and everybody thought I was crazy because it wasn't the latest and greatest out. Even though it was nowhere near the fastest, it was dead on constant. Wondered if this was the same.

yeah heres the link to the cf http://stores.ebay.com/Composite-Envisions but frankly i wouldent recomed it the guy lied about when he shipped it and when i got it it was warped and part on it was delaminating, but ther was enough ther for the upper plat and small stuff, i paid $70 for a 12 by 24 inch peice which wasent bad even for it being damaged so just watch out, the shock towers are hpi upgrades for the mt2 and are availible threw towerhobbies.

yeah yr close, himoto is HUGE in china japan austrailia, and everywhere else but here, and they are projected to take the market here by storm, that truck started out as a buggy that i paid $175 for brand new in the box, and it came stock with a 2 speed and a .18, what "name brand" company can beat that? u cant beat them for the money. even rc driver has already done near perfect reviews on them. their line includes a nitro and electric version of car truck and buggies in nearly ever scale including nitro micro, not to mention their nitro boats planes and heli's, and they are coming out with a new race proven 8th truggy and buggy that are expected to take the racing world by storm. pro racer troy pinkston now drives for them. i bought the buggy when it hit the market on a huntch that this might happen, that they might go big, and i wanted to support that since its a great value of an rc, and i think i was right lol.

Cool. I learn something new everyday. I guess they aren't such an underdog after all. I just bought a brand new tornado BB for 185 shipped. I thought that the price way way low but the ebay store has 100% positive feedback. I am very excited to get knee deep in RC racing. I am a bit of a competitor and I prefer to use equipment that nobody else will be using. Are the redcat and himoto made in the same factory or is one a direct copy of the other?

Is it just a lack of knowledge about these brands that causes people to look down on them. I guess since they aren't in any magazine that I have read people just don't hear about them much. That is how it is in competition paintball. I am excited to see where this will lead me.

hey guys look for posts by j-boy. I have been defending himoto for about a year now. I think a lot of the reason that you see so many negative posts is because newbys are atracted to the low price of this brand like fly's on stink. Thats certainly what I did. I did a lot of researching before I bought my first RC. Everything sounds so complicated so your thinkin "I better buy a cheap one to start out with cause it sounds easy to tear one up". When you sell so many cars to newbs your bound to see a lot of frustrated buyers. But most of my trouble at first was do to things about RC that I didn't know. These RC's are alittle cheaper, (priced and built), but they aren't a whole lot harder to work with than other brands. Im glad I bought mine and a year later it's still runnin strong. I guess I should say that I've allways felt lucky when it comes to my himoto because of the forums. I got a good radio that still works, havent ever stripped any gears, and have an engine that runs strong despite the fact that a newb broke it in in really cold weather. So anyway run a search for my posts and you'll know what I think.

yeah i was the other way around, i started about 5 years ago with a traxxas and now i run mainly himoto cuz i noticed that they were pretty well made fr cheap, and another cool thing about himoto is that they listen to the buyer, they are fixing the problems like the stripping gears, and the are already changing thier cars to make them more competative, and that ability to change when needed is what will be great for the company, i have high expectations for them

i am not trying to start trouble but i have been complaining about the stripping gears and clutch bells for over 6 months now, i see that himoto is selling upgraded steel bells and springs but not putting them on their cars. why not just put them on the cars and end the problems. Not a good practice if you as me. I like the cars since they are inexpensive and i found the only problem i have/had was the spur gears stripping, once i bought the hpi bells all was fine, i also replaced the springs in my cars too, the spring break usually on the first tank of fuel.

LMAO, Dude I emailed Comin one day and ask him that, you know what his reply was? LMAO, We offer the steel clutch bell as an UPGRADE part. I told him I thought that was a bad idea because it still makes them look substandard, because of the crappy aluminum clutch bell and spring. He had no reply to that, but whatever. I agree with you I think there making a huge mistake not making them with the steel clutch bell. Oh well we don't run there show.

you would think for the couple of dollars it costs them they would do it, the only good thing about changing your clutch bell is that you can control the size of your pinion.

i think the reason why they didnt is because, the modles that they introduced initially for the us market (the ones that we drive) are "just toys" and that better stuff is to come, so im not saying that its right not to fix them, but why spend the money when better models are to come, lets just be happy that they even recognized the problem and provided a solution.

i am sorry nitro i have to disagree with you, they should make good on their mistake and correct it and not keep selling the same inferior parts.

well thats my point from what i understand and i could be wrong they are just gonna keep making new models and making them better as they go, as they get more established, until they find out what works best, and like i said it may not be the best way to do it, but it really dosent bother me, il just buy the upgrade, but thats just my opinion, and i see where yr coming from

well speaking of problems, i have my cane setup now, except for a throttle servo... and here is why

I was suiting up my cane with my racing gear (radio, servos, battery) and came up with one problem... the stocker servos are junk. I had intended on using the original steering one as a throttle servo, but its so terrible! Anyone else's twitch like crazy? Makes me appreciate quality servos! Time to invest in a highspeed metal gear servo. Stocker isn't safe enough to use as RTR, let alone on a track!
