yeah yr close, himoto is HUGE in china japan austrailia, and everywhere else but here, and they are projected to take the market here by storm, that truck started out as a buggy that i paid $175 for brand new in the box, and it came stock with a 2 speed and a .18, what "name brand" company can beat that? u cant beat them for the money. even rc driver has already done near perfect reviews on them. their line includes a nitro and electric version of car truck and buggies in nearly ever scale including nitro micro, not to mention their nitro boats planes and heli's, and they are coming out with a new race proven 8th truggy and buggy that are expected to take the racing world by storm. pro racer troy pinkston now drives for them. i bought the buggy when it hit the market on a huntch that this might happen, that they might go big, and i wanted to support that since its a great value of an rc, and i think i was right lol.

Who projected Himoto would take the market "by storm"? Nobody reputable that I know of. they're doing a marginally better job of marketing than Redcat has. Himoto isn't HUGE in Australia...they've got a larger customer base, but it's the same kind of customer as we have here-frustrated as hell because they can't find any parts at the LHS so they have to go online to order their stuff, usually from overseas.
Ok, it came stock wtih a 2 speed and a .18...you got me there...but honestly, I'll take the single speed/2wd/racing .12 route that's not what everybody's after, and yes, they are fairly fast, but the fact that I haven't had to deal with any of the Himoto/Redcat specific headaches out of MY 1/10 scale cars is worth the fact that I spent 2-3x as much (at least) on them.

No, just because it's expensive doesn't always mean it's good, but on the flipside of the coin, just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's just AS good

also-RC Driver always gives glowing reviews. show me ONE review of ANY product they've done that they said it was crap. the cars aren't CRAP, but they don't deserve the GREAT review they did of them IMO, especially since they tested the cars with that craptastic Infinity engine... (no, I don't like the Infinity engines...deal with it:P)

one of the many reasons i do not like rc driver. The other, is who the editor is.
As far as ordering online goes, the way all hobbyshops are these days, they do not carry anything but crap products like traxxas and duratrax. Many of the US are still forced to order everything online.

credible or not its your opinion but rc driver did, no they are not huge in Australia, but they are groing rapidly there, and they are huge in oriental contries, and as far as parts go i say, like always, give them time to get established, it dosent happen over night, if yr too impatient buy another brand.

i have NEVER seen them give a perfect review and they are honest about stuff, the review they gave on the rapida pro was reasonable, they didnt like the electronics or the fact that the motor only had one needle. oh and i really could care less what u think about the team infinity motor, why would i care? its your opinion and your entitled to give it, and i respect that.
and why is it that everytime that someone trys to support the company, (this time it was me) and someone like u has to shoot them down? why are u here, if u dont like them? dosent make sense to me, but then i really dont care, my opinion on the company still stands.

Nitro, when have I shot it down? none of the cars they test deserve the glowing reviews they get, end of story.

they called the Savage X a great handling MT with tons of power...
it isn't.

they call the Traxxas 2.5 easy to tune...
maybe compared to a 10 year old Novarossi

"Himoto will take the RC world by storm"
Yeah, just like the Trinity Nitro Spyder took the monster truck world by storm...it'd be the Edsel of the RC world, if it weren't behind the times before it even came out.

the bottom line is, the glowing reviews were a direct result of the infusion of Himoto money into their bank accounts, just like it is any other time they review a product that's sent to them by a company that advertises in their mag. If I built a product, and sent it to them to test, but didn't buy any advertising space, they would NOT review it...end of story.

I'm backing Tbird on this debate.

Nitro, I'm not saying they won't become successful in this market...but being successful and taking it "by storm" are two totally different things.

if they were going to take the American RC market by storm, they would have already. the T-maxx did that...the original HPI RS4 did that...very few cars from very few companies can take anything "by storm", and when it happens, it's always innovative, top notch quality cars...like the original HPI RS4 (a competitive racecar with a $140 pricetag...$20 for a set of bearings, $100 in electronics, and you're ready to go stomp some Yokomos!) and the Traxxas T-maxx (a huge-at-the-time, high tech piece of gadgetry that was a huge risk, and obviously paid off, and then Traxxas turned the MT world on its ear again with the Revo)

Himoto and Redcat don't have anything like that. they've got solid, reliable, inexpensive cars..but nothing racy out of the box, and nothing that destroys the competition in both performance and price.

None of this means i'm talking bad about the cars themselves.

really? what about the rxb-1 pro and the rxt-1 that are about to hit the market? that is exactly their purpose to be racy out of the box, and destroy the competition in both performance and price. but we will see, i cant fortell wuts gonna happen, no one can.

OH MY GOD, dude.

first off, the RXB and RXT are NOT substantially different from anything else on the market. they bring nothing new to the table, and for the past 3 or 4 years people have been trying to bring a race-ready budget buggy to the market. IMO, nothing on the budget side will beat the HoBao Hyper8 Pro.

you're so blindly convinced that Himoto is the greatest thing since sliced bread that you're not even worth arguing with, even if i'm not even arguing with you, just explaining why i said what i said, and if I need to explain myself THAT MANY TIMES, you're not even hardly worth talking to.

In short, I'm going to say you ain't that smart.
