lol, yea while this is the first fuel car i've ever had, i do remember a few times
at the flight field a couple of dudes had those nitro cars and man then i
thought those things where cool the way they could run about 30mph
or so and take jumps just a enough to go airborn 6 or 7 inches above
the ground and plant back down and i actually wanted one but just never
got around to it (wife+kids=Broke) at that time. anyway i'm glad it's been
a few years(about 6) since being able to get back into a hobby, and as it is know
i'm glad i looked into a gasser.Man these gasser's might be a good pickup
tool for the ladies for a single dude huh? ask her if she wants to drive it and
once she does ump! she'll be hooked!!

One of the rushes that i used to get when i flew ac aircraft was to find different
fields most of the time challenging ones to shoot approaches and takoffs that
where just as,so i can see it going on with the FH, getting good fast runs with a
few low trajectory jumps, man we are really having fun. i can hardly sleep
thinking about tomorrow's event's.man hope you get one soon so that you
can get your rush on!!

Okay guys here's my report on the first run of the FH. i'll start by saying
i'm not a proffesional at this, but the hammer is bad azz. i would'nt compare
it to any other buggy (i.e Baja5b ) because for one i don't owne another and
for two i don't plan on bashing or going to sand dunes and the likes, just some
good fast runs and as i see right now the hammer is going to go airborn at some
point because judging by the way it handle's, it was meant to be jumped !! i just
won't be jumping 8 and 9ft ( or more ) into the air, with that being said my first
run with the FH was shear bliss!!! this thing man when you hit throtlle it just gives
a slight sqaut and digs in and haul's@#$%
The first tank of gas we ran in front of the house on concrete and that is definately
not where the FH is comfortable. we went to a sooccer field the next day for tank 2 and man
let me tell this is my first rc car and we are hooked. The hammer on grass( and dirt )
tracks staight and true and being stock has a good speed envelope. it handles more like
i would expect a smaller buggy to. it's a damn joy to drive. now if i could just find somewhere
where there's some small grassy mound's !!!! i'm ready for a jump!!! or two or maybe even three!!!!

^^^ lol sounds like your having a ball over there! dude i wish i could join ya with my Marder but i got the engine torn aprt for a new head gasket. its almost the similar buggy like your FH..... BTW if you need spare parts, most of the FG marder parts will fit your FH.

Ya man it is a blast, who knows maybe one day my son and i could hook up with you and
mardar. do you know if you can get chrome rims for the mardar/hammer ? if you get time
can you run a small list of parts/hop-ups down to me because i see right now that the FH is
going to get upgraded. later Chris.

rcnutshobbies.com. they have a selection of alloy parts for the Marder. i know for sure all of the A-arms are compatible. you can also used marder wheels and tires ofcoarse. as for chrome rims you man have to use the stadium wheel and tire's which i think would look sick on the FH and Marder. also i know the front cable disc brakes work oh the FH from the Marder so im thinking you can also get aluminum shock towers also.

Told you it's addictive lol!! thats the reason i get into trouble at work, because me and a friend get caught in the parking lot running them lol

Okay guys, i have run into my first small glitch with the FH, here's what happend, i took
it to the field today and primed the bulb and it started up and was running somewhat
rough and seemed like the motor wanted to speed up a little and slow down a little and
again. so i attempted to lean it just a little because it seemed like it was running a little
rich, so anyway i went ahead and ran it and it was very rich so as i'm bringing the FH
back over to me it stopped and i cannot get it started again, i also adjusted the idle screw
a littlle. any help? and is there anyone that knows the factory settings? and can it be
that the spark plug is out already ? today was only the second time i've fired it up!!!

good chances its the plug that fouled, if it was rich these things normally happend, just pop in a new one a start it.

yes yes and yes.

plug could be fouled out, try a new in box one, get 2, ive seen new plugs be bad

stock settingss are 1.25 out on L and 1.5 out on H. idle to taste.

the revving could be a few things. one your servos may of been glitching ( getting interferance from somewhere ) and causing the throatle servo to be jumpy.
a screw or screw could be, or have come loose. check your carb. make sure it is on solid. if it feels even in the most remote way loose, pull the air cleaner and tighten the bolts. not too tight tough. you MAY need to remove the carb and tighten the intake manifold bolts if the intake itself is loose.

the plugs are always seated fully. make sure your spark plug is tight.

tuning these is only similar to tuning nitros. i go off of performance and plug colors at differnt rpms. i ll check on low med and wot rpms for plug color to see how my needles are set.
its really the best way to determine the operating condition of the motor while its running.
