LOL well I hate to say it but denatured alcohol or metholated spirits or meths as it is known here in Oz, is widely availale in pharmacies! LOL..as well as hardware stores too that is. Anyway I myself have found that meths is the best broad based nitro cleaner. Putting it into a spray bottle & using a toothbrush to get the stubborn bits, it ususally works really well. Then you give it a blow dry to dry it and brush all the crud off. Anything really stubborn, I'd use WD-40 or turps and then finish off with meths(den. alc.) to dry up the oilly residue that wd40 or turps leaves behind.
Also a good method for cleaning bearings/diffs etc is to soak them in turps and then finish them off with meths

Ya I can't find the damn bottle, or I would tell ya who makes it and wifes not home right now to ask where it is. I'll look while I'm at Walmart in Buffalo tomarrow see if I can find it there, I'll post it if I find it there, it's like $1.75 for a pint not a quart. I should clearify the simple green thing, I only use the mix when I'm doing a complete tear down and cleaning and not on anything that will be damaged by it, Frame, Axles, plastic parts not that there are many, Tires, not chrome rims the Denatured alcohol will eat the chrome paint coating.

its not really necessary if you run your nitro at least once a fortnight. Otherwise I'd use it for prolonged storage or during winter. Afterrun oil is nothing more than machin oil or sewing machine oil, or even marvel mystery oil is the one to use. Even the commercial ones are not that expensive because you are only putting in a few drops in at a time.
