Status: offline 		Warning..... I bought a Redcat Racing Tornado BB RTR nitro buggy and the RTR should stand for **Ready To Repair**. I did not get through 2 tanks of fuel before the car started to fall apart. The engine mouting screws became loose and one fell out which allowed the gears on the engine (Two Speed Clutchbell) chew up the transmission gears ( Transmission Set).

I was able to get a person on the phone which told me that was a part of the nitro car/buggy hobby. I do understand that over time the cars will need to be fixed or repaired. I have no issues with that . The thing that burns me up it that it took less then two tanks of gas before it needed repair.

Before running the car, I did read the manual and no where did it say you had to tighten the screws every tank or anything like that. The customer service person Jason seemed to know about this issue but they DO NOT do anything to resolve it.... example Loktite or any other thread locking compound.

Status: offline 		Sorry to hear that man welcome to the hobby. First rule is always take all screws that go in metel and locktight them and check all other screws even before you start it for the first time. Okay I am sorry you that you got started out on a bad note. Eric

Status: offline 		Well I dont think RTR stand for Ready TO Rebuild. But yeah that's bad luck, it kinda like it's hazing you in a way. Well welcome to RC and I will say that not everything will break in less then 2 tanks. But the general rule of thumb is that, as soon as you get the rc any metal to metal screw you locitite them. But just dont think that this will happen all the time because it wont. Now it will break but not every 2 tanks unless you really beat the crap out of it.

Sorry to hear that you got a rocky start, but it happens. The same kind of thing has happened to me about 100 times... For some reason, I feel the need to learn all my lessons the hard way. Such as:

-I competely stripped out the gearbox on my Tamiya Wild One on the 2nd battery because I didn't tighten down the gearbox screws.
-I thought a frayed antenna wire was no big deal, ended up with a runaway and a very bent 1/12 on-road chassis ... and it was my friend's car I was borrowing.
-Who needs to break in a nitro engine? I just ran my Ofna MBX and ended up with a fully trashed engine after the 1st gallon.
-Balance your 2-channel trainer plane before trying to hand launch it.
-After beach bashing, clean the salt residue off of your ride. I lost an RC10T to an extreme case of rust.

Those are just a few of my rookie mistakes, and I've been at this for about 20 years. The good news is, I bet now you'll never forget Loctite again. This hobby can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but it can also be very fun and very rewarding. Just keep at it and come here for help when you need it.

Status: offline 		oh no, im really upset, can u tell me EVERY problem u have so that i can fix it before i run it, im getting mine on christmas day and i cant have this ive been waiting for over 2 months since ive ordered it, plz tell me, or some1 else tell me exactly wat to do, yes i am very new so i dont know

Status: offline 		After you read the manual, I would start the car and make sure it starts and the motor and transmission are working together the way the should. Next, as I found out the hard way .... I would look for any areas where metal and metal meet and are held together by a screw and add loctite or another thread locking compound. Take one screw out one at a time to make sure the motor does not more its positioning to the transmission and add the loktite to the motor mount screws . After you added the loctite to the metal to metal screws go over the entire car with a screw driver to make sure the screws are tight... Good luck!!!
