Ian,

How did you achieve that weathering effect on the Corsair fuse & wings? I like the detailing.

Ha hahahahhaaa

I actually had this effect by accident.

From the first few pic I put up, I just used a 2B pencil and drew the lines in and then just smuged to create the effect. Then I saw the zeros in RCU with silver (chrome) strips and effects. So one day after work, I found some old silver(chrome) paint and went crazy with it. I did all the lines with silver. It got worse and worse I HATED IT!!!! Even wanted to repaint the whole bird.

Next day I tried to remove the paint with Thinner, and hoping it would not remove the original blue. The silver came off and created an effect that was not too bad Well its still a bit messy.

still waiting for FEDEX delivery of engine + CJ retracts etc...etc... Should be here in a few days.
Due to lack of space... I decided not to build until all parts are ready...to avoid damage .
It's the waiting game & it's killing me!!!

What monster are you going to put it her?

What I'm going to do next is to print new stickers for the star and bars. The ones I got is really off. The blue is so light.

No updates yet. Been busy at work. Our group will be going to Malaysia again on the 27th jan, so I got to get her ready by then.

I'm not to confident to fly her at our local flying field yet cause the field is not that big.

No the second pic is someone elses picture. I was refering to the star and bars that I would like to make instead of the light blu one which I got on my corsair.

Ian,

I'm definitely gonna try tracing the lines (looks great)... maybe with those ultra fine paint pens... with a dark gray or black.....

Regarding the "weathering" effect... I'm gonna first try on an unseen part like the center wing piece under the fuse... maybe by scuffing.
