I think we are up against some kind of absolute limit with the motorized FP tail. With acro airplanes that have a lot of unidirectional torque, some maneuvers just cant be performed evenly in both directions, so the pilots pick the ones that look the best and just fly those. I'm thinking of torque rolls, hammerhead turns, rolling 360s things like that. I imagine the top 3d heli pilots have to make the same kinds of trade-offs too.
Maybe you could design a regular routine of maneuvers that sort of used the inertia of one to lead into the next one, minimizing the limitations of the tail system.

I have been trying to figure out some way to get the motor to actually reverse direction, or maybe use two motors, one facing either way, or a tiny cp system and a governed tail motor like that TRex had.

yep, i think it's the limitation of the fp tail. same thing with the orange prop. but hey, i almost got inverted hover down, i know i can do it (the inverted rig), but it's the fear factor and the altitude factor. and today morning, i jus went out and had an inverted hover yes, a hover, not the chase-it-around-the-sky type, for about 3~5 sec. but then freaked out cauz i've never been inverted for this long and flipped over. i think i'm making progress, adn i've learned to correct the tail while inverted too i'm not that good yet as to put in a routine, but will think about it, since it'll give me something to work on as a whole.
