Thank you for your help. I do not know much English, translated by Google. I look forward to your help. Yesterday I put the main landing gear, and tomorrow I want to install the motor. It needs to be moved forward so that it came out of the hood. What can you offer? Wood, dural or iron? Iron will have extra weight. Аs shown here photo from your computer?
P.S.(Translation
turned bad)

@ Tarolog1974.

Your translation is very good, easy to understand, use wood like plywood as this is the best way. iron will be to heavy, if you use iron it will be hard to remove excess weight, using wood you can always add if needed.

Started repairing my cmp cessna 182/140.Ive read all the posts up too page 21 and glad I did.I read were there is a possible update for the rudder and now I see why while fixing the rudder hindges.nothing to glue too.so I am trying to get 3 small piece's of hard wood in place in the rudder instead of one long piece. because of wieght.want to go pull-pull on the rudder with the servo up front and "Y"shaped control rod for elevator.then I gotta go up front and put the firewall back togetherwith fiberglass. loks like the motor got ripped off.Need to build a one inch firewall box to mount my supertigre 3000 too. the motor has a big round backplate too so that will put me out to the end of the cowl with the prop backplate.I wont spare the fiberglass on the firewall repair. I was thinking of lowering the fuel tank because of the inverted motor.the front wheel settup apears stock and its not bent so this plane must have takin a nose dive on the maiden!didnt get a cowl with it.bought a used one and glad to havit!hope the pics load.....bob

Okay all-

I have searched through this thread and found several comments on folks intending on using a DLE 20 and several folks commenting that it is probably not enough engine. I happen to have DLE 20 available and it is looking for a homeI really like this plane but don't want it to be a dog (that is what I took the DLE 20 off of).

Has anyone actually put a DLE 20 on the plane and can they comment on how the plane flies, general maneuvering, prop size, etc.

Thanks much!!!

Larry

Hi there, Many have said thriugh this extensive thread that the power to weight ratio will not be enough, most mut a 26cc in, it will give the extra power to get you out of trouble if youneed it, ie abort landing. I have put a DLE 30 in mine, plenty of power and no extra weight. Please have a look through this if you would like to get a recommended engine size.
Hope this helps

I fly a GP Waco 72" ARF with a Dle 20 and it weighs 16#+. Has plenty of power. A Dle 20 would be plenty of power for this 182 and would be very scale like also. No need to fly it like a jet and hover, etc. I just bought one and it will get a Dle 20 for sure. An easy install also. All my flying friends that use the Dle 20 say it has more power than the 26's out there also. I use a 16/8 wood prop on my Waco and a 16/6 wood prop on my 1/4 scale Hanger 9 106" ws J-3 Cub also with the Dle 20 (weighs 14#'s). The J-3 fly's excellent with the Dle 20 also.

Thanks,
Eddie of OKC, OK

I have a fuji bt 24 in mine and it is a gutless pig! I hate it and wish that I would have put a 30cc in it. In fact, I am going to sell the motor soon it is hardly broke in and runs excellent but it just isn't the motor for me...

Just to continue onI am not interested in unlimited vertical or anything close to 3D. Just want to make sure that I can do some loops and rolls, immelmanns, etc type maneauvering with a 20 cc engine.

I was really hoping that there was folks out there who have actually stuck a 20 cc DLE on the plane and can talk about it.

Thanks-

Larry

Ok to continue on,
The dle and others are very light engines (which is great!). My fuji 24cc has a magneto and is heavy (about 4 lbs) and I didn't need weight up front. This plane requires alot of nose weight so with that engine, you may have to add up to 1 1/2 pounds up front to get her to balance. Wouldn't you rather have more engine up there instead of dead weight? You don't have to fly at full throttle all of the time but the power is there if you need it. Just sayin'

I agree with HUNTERANDJEFF,

 also to quote you

"I was really hoping that there was folks out there who have actually stuck a 20 cc DLE on the plane and can talk about it"

I believe cannonball200 has already answered your question as he has stated he has put a DLE 20 in his Cessna 182

I have not flown the 182 with the Dle 20 but, I have flown the heck out of my 16 lb GP Waco arf with the Dle 20. Pics are in a few posts above as well as the 14 lb Hanger 9 1/4 scale J-3 Piper Cub. The Waco has plenty of power with the 20 and will do large loops, barrel rolls and climb great. The 182 is not going to be anywhere close to the Waco weight. I fly the Cub and Waco at about 1/2 throttle most of the time also. I'm telling you all that the Dle 20 will be plenty of power to fly the 182 with athority and will fit good in the plane. I use a 2400 nicad 6 volt for radio and a 1500 nicad 4.8 volt for engine and you can shove them as far forward as possible for balance. Just install that Dle 20 on that 182 and go fly it.

Hi asif.
If that 46 you want to use is a glow engine. I belive will not be powerfull to even get this plane rolling. I have 2 182 and I'm using Saitos4 cycle 150 ,This is what I had availlable for power source and they provide more than enoughf power. This is a very tail heavy plane, move all you can as far fordward as you can, balance carefully, have your front landing gea a litle short of what it says on instructions and give about 4 degrees rake and you will have a very rewarding airplane, with a 10 degree flap for landing she will land beatifully . Does not have any bad traits.. I believe this plane was made for a 140 glow engine.
Good luck
Thanks Jose.
