good to hear all the info on these. i am on the fence about ordering and was going to get the ofna. this would be my first nitro car. so keep us informed people.

I don't know what OFNA you were thinking of but I'd go with it. I think even an LX comp will be better than these. I know i'll get flamed for saying it but go with the OFNA (get the hyper 7 if you can stretch to it). I'm assuming youre on a tight budget or you wouldn't even be looking at these.

The Raze- Ive run two gallons 20% ODONNELS replaced bad servo with one new hobbico cs-64 servo for steering I use 2650 mah rechargeable batteries in transmitter and buggy. A 10 to 15 mph crash into flag pole popped one clip off from front during breakin found later in buggy and replaced it I run the raze on my own track 100 ft. by 60 ft. has turns, dips, bumps and two small jumps. Engine breakin was as good or easy as it get's cleaned metal particles out of engine after breakin, had to bend top brake lever to back brakes because of binding simple fix, body melting where its touching header other than that so far so good, off the line- tight and loose turns- braking- jumps airborn five to eight ft.and starting eng. all are good to very good for a 261 dollar buggy. This is no hyper 8 or losi 8 having 4 hypers 8 and one losi 8. I also cleaned and filled all three diffs 1500wt. rear 5000wt. center and 4000wt. front (a must do) all diffs were dry. This buggy is great for first timers and seems to work so far on a simple fast track or slow if you choose to drive that way I will change tires after a couple more gallons of fuel.

Fluids for shocks and differentials in a buggy, truggy, truck or what ever are silicone based and you by them at any hobby store local or over the net try tower hobbies you can save money though them different makers of the fluids mentioned are rated differently browse through tower hobbies web read what ever you are interested in and you will learn more quickly than i can do I am using mugens diff lubricant and a mix of mugens, TL and AE for shocks they can be mixed for different weights. Try what i used in the shocks maybe 40 wt. front 50wt. rear the diffs were 4000wt. front 5000wt. center 1000 to 2000wt. rear start with that set up leave everything stock except for steering servo replace from the start many to choose from, high torque steel gears, get the feel of the buggy read what you can from these forums ask alot of questions you will probably want to upgrade to a better buggy and keep the raze for back up fun. This should be your first set up it seems to work for the kids and myself you will learn more by replacing parts that are worn or need upgrading when your ready for a different feel or control of the buggy

Something that people might think about if you look at the upgrades for the raze with them installed it is as good as most every other manufactors pro versions the design is a proven copy as are most other buggies on the market ie:the raze looks and maybe some or most of the ofna 9.5 c hub parts will interchange with the raze my point is i feel with the proper setup and driver the raze is as fast as anything out there lets face it they are all made in china or a select few japan {except the losi 8ight} and unless you have info to prove it wrong as far as we know the raze and many others parts could be made from the same molds or even at the same plant with different batchs shipped to different companies who put their own label on them i noticed that on my raze there was not one part with the duratrax name molded in that identifed it as a duratrax only product or as being made for the raze only, a little investigation might uncover how mant parts with other companies labels might interchange

No more tips oh yea remember snug is tight don"t have a heavy hand when you tighten the screws into the plastic composite parts or you will strip out the threads and [a little] loctite is your freind ok one more i could hear a clank when i pushed the R/f a arm up and down it was the servo saver[bellcrank] sliding up and down on the shaft so i put a TINY dab of grease between the top of the servosaver and the upper front nose plate it stopped the noise how long that lasts or if the grease attracts dirt i dont know ball bearing steering would be cool but not at all needed ok my time for a question does anyone know what weight oil comes in the shocks i need a refrence point to start from

I just ordered 2 of these for my 2 boys, hope they will be good starter buggies for them. They are 13 and 15 so I didnt feel any need for a 600.00 buggy to start them out on, LOL.
