Coyote said it pretty well.
Although, I think he may have gotten the needles a little reversed.
High speed needle is going to control your fuel air mix when at throttle. If the problem you are having are at idle, the two adjustments you will most likely want to make are the low speed needle, and idle adjustment screw.
The idle screw is just above the flywheel, and accesed on th left side of the vehicle, with the low speed being on the right side, and is the screw in the middle of the slide carb.
Make sure both are at factory, and start with he idle screw, turning it about a 1/12 of a turn counter clockwise to slow down the idle. Something you can check on that as well, is remove the idle screw completely and make sure it is clean.
If that doesn't work, try the lowspeed needle. Adjust it by turning clockwise 1/12 of a turn and testing the idle speeds by blipping it, and letting the throttle return to idle. Try not to play with the low speed needle to much if you can help it though, that thing is a little touchy.

I just saw something REALLY funny. A guy started a thread called "Duratrax or Ofna".
I checked it out, and three guys suggested the Hyper 7. No big deal. Except that they all said the Raze was "fragile".
Fragile!
After all we have put our Raze's through, I think the last thing that would come to mind, is "fragile".
I just thought all of you might get a kick out of that It was my first good laugh today. hehe

i dunno, the Raze is ok, i just get frustrated when the motor mounts come loose every race i go to. Oh, that and the servo problems right out of the box...and the engine is a little "sub-par" compared to other RTRs.

Speaking of the OFNA Hyper 7, just picked up this guy for $200...comes with an Omega Picco .21

I saw that too. I laughed a bit. I was jumping my raze 20 feet yesterday doing backflips. I was landing so hard the body was ripping off and nothing broke. I am have an odd feeling the people calling it fragile have never owned one.

I wonder if the guys that said the Raze is "fragile" actually ever had one . Hands down, I think the Ofna is a better racing buggy out of the box, but for the price, the Raze is pretty good for the track and an awesome basher that is very tough. JMO.

Ofna or duratrax ? Really ? Ive owned/own both a raze that is now traded and my hyper 7 pbs . both were nearly bulletproof and very tough . The raze was prone to the out of the box rtr issues < servos and what not > but aside from that it is a very solid car and after you adress the lower screws in the knuckles this car is virtually problem free . My hyp 7 has been neglected as i ve been running the storm pro and it seems as nearly indestructable as the raze and hyp 7 are . I think most of these buggies are all within an arms reach of each other give or take a little leeway . but dollar for dollar the raze is an excellent car . I live in northen mich and I ran my raze through hell and back at the dunes construction sites and alltogether some tough as nails terrain and a quarry and it kept asking for more . the hyp 7 was right next to it as well as the storm now enjoying time there as well and i would have to say that as long as you know how to build/tune and maintain your cars then you should have minimal problems . Just my 2 cents

I just want you guys to know that my supposed piece of junk buggy is now running It took me a while, and I was close to having no hope left. Thanks for the advise.

She's running a bit rich right now. I didn't take the time to lean it any further. Let's just say I was to happy to finally get to run the buggy instead of hunting down gas leads and making engine adjustments

I do not own a raze, I talked my buddy into getting one (he's a first time r/c-er) and got it friday, I broke the engine in on my stand for him, the buggy looks pretty well built, especially for the price. I'm sure you could put this thing through hell, and it would take it. The only thing I noticed it the engine doesnt have a lot of pinch, so I took my time heat cycling it, after it was done the pinch was still there of course, but it felt like a higher end engine after about 2 gallons(which isn't a bad thing), but the thing started every time within 2-3 pulls. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like it, and sure it will last through some really good times.

Well said coyote!
I honestly have no opinion as to what buggy somebody gets. I guess it does bother me though, when somebody says something about something that myself and others own, that is not true, just because they want somebody to get what they, themselves, have. Make sense?
We all know for a fact that the Raze is a tough as hell buggy, except for the out of the box RTR issues like coyote mentioned.
Oh well.

It hasn't happened to me but I know what your talkin about, I actually bevalled(chamfered) the inside of my hubs with a dremal tool to keep it from rubbin so much.

Man, talk about bad luck, I was runnin yesterday and the e-clip came of the front of the clutch bell. I didn't know it happened and the darn bearing that the bell rides on actually came off and wore a hole into the side of the fuel tank I really don't like e-clips

I thought about grinding off some of the hub at the edge but so far only thought about it. I bet if most of the Raze owners here take a hard look at their front end dogbones near the hubs they too will see major wear. Mine cut itseft right in half.

E-clips are a real pain. On some of the suspension parts they should have mushroomed off one end of the pins to get rid of at least one side with a e-clip.

If the hole in the tank is not to big you can try to fuse it shut with heat (like a soldering iron)

Whoa! Hold the phone BEARBYSR.
You said you have an e-clip holding your clutch bell on???
I couldn't have read that right. Mine has an hex haed screw holding on the clutch bell. Always has, even with the SuperTigre.
I must be getting something mixed up???
