    WoW!!!!!!! well, it's official....
I've now flown my t<->t completely on my own. everyone on this thread has beem completely truthful in saying that with everything set as all 18 bizillion posts have attested to, this plane flys like a dream
    Here's the day in recap. .. ...
I get to the field and talk to the locals about joining the club. they playfully give me a hard time (part of initiation?) and I see young Garret Morrison (World Class Freestyle pilot) is once again there. I ask him if he'd mind doing the maiden on my Evolution powered ship and he (thankfully) agreed to do it. He said he's flown quite a few of these and that they are fun to fly. He ALSO agrees that this is not a 3D plane by design. He does say that he can do nearly all the 3D maunevers that he does with his $12000.00 (insert Russian sounding airplane name here) competition plane. He says that the manuvers might not look as crisp and clean as a real 3D ship does, but it's a frickin' $100.00 sport aerobatic plane that I wouldn't have to refinance my house on should I get a little sloppy with the controls.
I wish to GOD I had a camera, or better yet, a video camera to film of him flying this thing. he did things that I'd never try even in the simulator, but just watching an expert at the controls with my T<->T did something even Viagra probably wouldnt do. he hovered it over to right in front of us, then did a few torque rolls with the tail at about 6" off the deck, then went vertical about 200', then did a backslide that went at least 6 feet before it flipped over. It's true that you could give this guy a milk crate with a motor and he'd make it fly , but MAN- was it neat to see what I might be able to do in 10 years with that plane...
My hands were sweating even though they were in my pockets. he said the plane was all trimmed up and handed me the controls. I flew it around for several min. on both low rates as well as high, and i did a few snaps and alerion rolls as well as a couple of loops and eights. I brought it down a couple of times to shoot finals just to see the slow speed charactistics on this ship. in a light wind, it was docile and very predictable. I pulled out after getting about 3/4ths thru the approach and to just about right in front of me. On the last pass i cut the throttle just before starting the base and just let it glide around and loose altitude till it was lined up and just let her float in. it landed at near stall speed right infront of garret and myself. he shook my hand as I thanked him for taking it up. the plane was everything i wanted it to be. I'm going to find a person with a video camera and try to get Garret fo fly it again. he also wants to try the other ship that has the Saito.72 on it.

Gosh. . . . I'm just really stoked, guys. now I know what most of you've been saying all around.
this is one nice, extreemly fun to fly plane. . .
    Jeff

Adam, where is the Canal? I always like to hear of a hot fishing spot. The commercial filmed at my flying field aired during the Super Bowl. It's a Toyota truck ad. Big tipping bridge. You can see some of the runway we fly off of.
Fantastic Jeff. Good show. Yes, I bet you will like the Saito powered Twist too. Some video of an expert flying the Twist would be nice.

You sound stoked Jeff,,, THats awesome, and welcome to the show, I know you've been on the thread a whiole now,, but thats nothing like flying her the 1st time on your own, Congrats.

I saw the tipping Bridge Commercial, I forgot that you were talking about your field being in the shot ,, Dang,, I hope I get to to see it again so I can see the field. which side is your field on when they show it?? Left or right of the bridge??

I think for next years Super bowl Commercial we should have all of us T_ _ _ T folk lined up on the grid and set up as the offense,,, 11 T_ _ _ Ts in formation reving their motors, and make some kind of R/C football play, then we could all rush the oposing teams Quarterback when on Defense, Dive bombing etc.. etc.. Just think,,, 11 T_ _ _ Ts all chasing the,,,, Lets say the NY Giants around,, slamming into their helmets and such.... balsa wood exploding on impact... Etc.. etc... Hee heee heee
Wouldn't that be GREAT to see??? I'm in,,, Who do we need to talk to??? Horizon.??. Dang.. I guess that idea is shot...

Waldo, maybe the Goodyear blimp could be replaced with a giant rc T***t. Instead of a beer can drop, kegs of Bud Lite could be dropped into the bleachers. The ramps and tipping bridge were built smack dab on top of the runway in the Toyota commercial.

    HEY TIMC,

Like the Beer drop Idea,, And I got to see the commercial again last night during the news at 11, that is a HUGE field,,, now do you guys often hit those tumbleweed looking bushes, or were they added to the scenery for effect. looks like a great place to fly.

And whats going on here,, I haven't heard much from the R&D Team lately,, Maybe I need to pay you guys more...

Why don't we recruit a chemist who could reformulate beer to a higher alcohol level so it might be more flamable. we could then find a soluable lubricant that would allow us to fill the tanks of our aircraft. Just think: we could suck the fuel tanks dry after a day of flying. The exhaust might smell better too. I hate the idea of dropping such a precious cargo for something control ed by someone who's also using the same fuel as the plane is using. . .

Dont mind me: I just got in from a long night of work and feel a little punchy myself.
also kinda bummed. Now that the maiden is out of the way, I'm ready to T<->T and Shout, but now there's rain in the forcast.
    I need someone to design a H9 T<->T for the G3.5

Anyone know if any of the simulators are Mac compatible??? My last PC just died and ugly death and now I am left with all Macs (for my photography). I'm going to be getting into a new one in a couple of months that has the ability to run Windows, but until then I'm bummin' with no games to play

Sorry I can't help on the MAC Compatability for sims. I've been looking into getting a MAC my self Because of all the hype saying there so much better then a regular windows operating platform, I just don't know how true it is yet. If it couldn't run a Flight Sim then I would have to say its useless to me,, running flight sims is a must..... But I think they are much better for running Photography, Cad type & Music writing Programs, does this sound about right to you. I mean is it better to run an Airplane Designing program on a MAC?? Maybe we just need to have both platforms

Naswifty, When Ever I'm down South I always try and find me some nice White lightning, or white whisky, or whatever / whoever likes to call it,, I prefer Ethol, But I have never had the heart to pour it into my planes fuel tank, thats the problem with high alcohol based fuels, decisions have to be made.... Drinking or fueling???? Hmmmm,,,,, I just stick to the Nitro for my planes and celebrate with the Whisky later I find we're both happier that way,, But I'm sad to say I'll never know if it works better or not because I never get around to trying it, I guess I'll have to wait until I hear that someone else has tried it,,,,,, But,,,,Then you have to decide if the results were true, or the persons report was a little influenced.

    Waldo,
You can actually run sims on the new Macs. The have intel chips inthem so you can partition the hard drives to run Windows on one side, not hard to do. I just don't have one of the new ones yet. I talked to the support guys for the G3 sim and they said they have heard that it works awsome on these machines. The way they have it set up apparently makes the sim "fly" (pun intended). But yes, they are generally designed for the creative world. I have never had the problems with a Mac that I have with a PC. Ifyou want more info, feel free to contact me offline, these guys don't want to talk computers!

    dude, that sucks major. . . .
I'm a Mac guy deep down inside. the main reason I got the Dell on my desktop is primarily because of the Great Planes G3(.5) sim program. I have a Mac G3 powerhouse sitting in the garage collecting dust, so I can relate. . . hope you get a replacement
