    Bummer ( once again)
I had big plans of doing the maiden this weekend, but unexpected company saturday and high gusty winds today have got me on the simulator one more time honing my skills.

    MTWISTER:
sorry to hear that you're experiencing less than "fun" (keyword) with your twist. in all 200 plus pages of this thread, there have been a few people who have had simular experiences like yours. others with this plane will quickly reply with additional comments on how their planes are set up or mods that might be suggested to correct your issues. anyways, the bottom line is don't give up quite yet. there might be something that was overlooked on your end that will hook you up and get that thing flying right.
BTW: most people have the CG set at 5 3/4 to 5 7/8 rom the LE.
    Jeff

It looks like mtwister has settled on a U-Can-DO and seems to be one of these people that can't own what they prefer without bashing everything else. It seems to be most prevalent in engines. Seems pretty juvenile to me, but that may be exactly what we are dealing with. Either that or he's bored and decided to stir things up a bit (troll).

*non sequitur* I'm sitting here reading the various posts when I realize I'm tapping my foot to the music on a channel that happened to be on when I sat down at the computer. Lawrence Welk! WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Its kinda like finding hairs growing in your ears. All this from a guy that could rock with the best of them. Janis, Hendrix, Ozzy even.

    Mr TimC,
I have bought a U Can Do because I know at least THESE planes will fly as promised by the manufacturer. I have put probably 5 gallons of fuel, strictly in set up time in the Twist. I will admit the plane flies easy, but also with that, the plane does terrible 3D. Now, if I was someone who wanted a plane that did loops, some spins, landed like a trainer etc.. I'd be happy with it. I am not that though, this plane is supposed to 3D, and that means harriers, waterfalls, flat spins etc.. It WONT do those very well at all. My world models super sports 40 does better 3D than this thing. If you wish to call me a troll, fine, but I am a pilot, and one that knows how to dial in a plane. My distaste for the plane is it does not fly as advertised. Got it? Good.

    mtwister,

I'd say you got a bum plane. I've put case upon case of fuel through mine and it will climb while doing an inverted or upright flat spin. Harrier all the live long day and waterfall like Handel. (I wish more than a few really knew just how funny that last line was!)

    Peace,

    downtrodden

p.s. this plane is nothing more than a docile trainer with a .40 of any size engine on it. I prefer the .61 FX or the Saito .82, myself.

    mtwister,
I'm no 3D maniac, actually, last year was my first year flying, but from my experience this is a great plane. You said it won't flat spin??? I'm a novice pilot and I can get my .60 size to flat spin like a helicopter (maple seed) falling from a maple tree! It just keeps going and going and going! I can't speak for the other guys here, and I cannot do some of the maneuvers you were speaking of, but I think you got a bum plane or something is set up wrong. Too bad H9 customer service sucks !

Based on where mtwister said he tried his cg - his twist is quite nose heavy compared to most others. Mine is at 5 3/4 inches like many fliers of the 40 size twist on this forum. Sold my u can do and kept the twist. We all get to choose our own favorites.

When I bought my first VW Beetle, I didn't expect it to be as fast or handle as well as a BMW 2002Tii (even though they both did come from Germany, and shared a few of the same parts).
I guess we all get what we pay for, and try not to make unrealistic expectations on our purchases.
    I wonder if a 37% YAK 54 worth $5000.00 would do better 3D than my T<->T ?

I Don't recall anyone here saying this was the best 3D plane out there. All I know is this is ONE FUN PLANE TO FLY. It will do what ever your thumbs are able to do with it. I'm Old School so I do my mixing with my thumbs (Guess thats why I'm not very good at it with any plane). Wait a minute 3D---3D---Now I know what is wrong (NO ONE GAVE ME ANY OF THOSE COOL 3D GLASSES) .[

It surely wouldn't do your wallet any good, naswifty! I guess it all boils down to this: there are those that have to buy the biggest, baddest, most-expensive, hopped-up, high-falutin', thing-a-ma-bob and then there's me. Although I hate to use the word "cheap", lets just say I'm frugal. But in the longrun, how is anybody's brand of fun worth more than mine? I just don't have the liability of ownership that they do. I don't have to worry if my covering is less than perfect and I don't have to buy a $12,000 trailer, which I have to insure, to haul it around in. Who are these "Jones" I'm supposed to be keeping up with and why should I? I'm all tuckered out giving this much of a damn.

It appears there has been a nerve struck here on the T_ _ _ T thread, I love it,, I do have to agree with the others Mtwister on saying something is wrong with your set up, while this isn't the most user friendly 3D ship out there, I learned how to 3D with this bird and can do just about anything at all with her and a few surprizes to boot, It wasn't easy I have to admit, but I can't imagine not owning one.

as most of us here feel, if something,,, and I mean anything in this hobby usually goes wrong, and if you've been flying as long as I,,,,, you know something will fail at one point and time destroying your craft, So for all these people here to go right out and buy another and another one everytime or rebuild them over and over again, says something for this plane,, I have never had a more fun plane in my hanger, I have owned probably over 20 different models and have flown well over 50 or so, from gliders to jets, and I hope to God someone places a T_ _ _ T in my coffin with me when I go. I love my other planes as well, but this one is just a little more special for some reason. I hope you get the set up working for you as you will not regret giving this plane the air time you both deserve.

I'm running mine with a 70 surpass II 14 x 4 apc and had to move my battery behind the cockpit where I put in a pop hatch underneath right behind the wing I was finally able to get her almost to 5.0 in the balance, it works fine for me there and probably would work better if it were more, I kept trying to get the balance back until I heard DownT was doing just fine with a 4.25 - 4.75 CG, (I hope my memory serves me right DownT) so I've settled in around the just before 5.0 mark.

This plane takes the touch to 3D, not that you don't have the touch but you need to get the T_ _ _ T touch with the right set up,,,, So get it!!!! You'll be hooked. I have taken other 3D ships into the sky and to me its almost cheating, they do it so easily, you just have to work with this one a bit more then the others, But she is my most favorite plane to fly.

I too was very leary about its 3D capability when I first bought this plane 2 or so years ago, but with the help of many people on this thread, I saw the light, I wish you good luck and I say stick around here, not only do we all love this plane and hate it at times, but we laugh our butts off at the stories that come from this thread. This is the best group of people I have ever never met.

Enough said by me about it... Waldo,, Over and out
