Another (unusual) question form my desk to yours.
who has tried the flaperon option on their T<->Ts? I got a new receiver to put in the 2-stoke, so I was playing with the idea of setting up the flaps option ( OK: I know this thing already lands pretty slow) just to see if I could get it to stop in mid air in a light headwind. plans are back on for madien on it this saturday. . .
before I go up, here's a rundown on settings:
D/R on single switch for elev. and aleirons
    D/R set at 50% L and 120% H
    exponential at 60%
    rudder limited to 60%
12.25x3.25 with new bandaid on R/H index finger (how does APC get plastic so frickin' sharp?)
3" DUBRO spinnner and Sullivan tailwheel with large diameter spring.

did I miss anything? (other than fuel and a batter charge)

Ahhhh! Aparently I am not alone ! I took three stitches to the index finger after trying to break in my Satio 100 for the T_ _ _T! That crap hurts, doesn't it!!!

It sounds like your are ready to pull the trigger naswifty. I set my Twist up for flaperons, but have never used them other than to experiment with the aileron angle to see what I like best. I seem to always have at least one blue fingernail, but no blood yet (knock on wood).

I was watching that guy selling the steak knives on TV, and thought it would be a lot cheaper just to get an assortment of APC props and just get some duct tape and wrap one end of each prop.
I could also get some of them black master airscrew props to use as dinner knives to spread butter. . . .

Naswifty, I hope you get some Pics of your maiden and good luck,,, It all sounds great to me CONTACT !!!!

I bought one of them there fancy starters about 14 years back and thank God to this date I haven't wacked a finger again since, But before that, It was to the point where I was just going to replace my fingers with props.

I have the Flaperon set up and I love it, TimC go ahead and play with that feature, I don't believe they are really needed and I rarely use them to land with, but for extra added manuvering and they do help you Harrier very well and they do work great for the landings when you want them, I just mess around with it in all positions sometimes I try and just fly up and down with the Flaperon dial,, Its weird but you'll see the results for sure.

I also have D/R on the elevator/aileron,, But I never think to hit the switch,, its just always on full,, I really want to do better with remembering that this season..

Well Its 1 degree and looks like its going to be that way a while here,,, DownT I believe it came from your territory. Thanks

only a recommendation, but if you set up spoilerons, set it up on a seperate switchable channel. I set it up in heli mode, that way the spoilerons operate like a snap switch. only when my elevator throw is above 70% (35degrees) does the spoileron deflect, and they deflect to full range, nothing in between. up elevator equals up spoileron and vise versa. This is necessary to get a semi stable harrier or elevator.

37 degree's, sunny, and about an 8mph wind here today boys. Already got 2 flights in, and am going to squeez in 2 more after work. She is going to get really cold starting Saturday, so I am going to take advantage of it while I can.

I have spoilerons set up on mine and I really like adjusting them for stable hover's. I have found with my CG set at the max, a little down spoileron is helpful. Not sure the aerodynamic principle behind this, just trial and error and my flying style have proved it to be helpful.

when i set up the flaperons, i noticed that they didnt align, so i started screwing with the trim settings while in flap mode. when I returned back to normal, my alerons didnt line up. so I re-trimed the subtrim alignment to 0, then selected the flaps, and "BOOM", right back to mis-aligned flaps. I'm going to have one of the locals that uses a JR to help me set it up. also, whats flap differential? owners manual says to read about it in the book, but i cant find it. . .

    naswifty,
I don't know which JR radio you have but I have the 8103 and have flaperons/spoilers set up on mine. I have only played around with them a couple of times trying to do a waterfall where it flips right over and then comes down. I would like to play around some more this year. I set them up using mixer #3, this way the trims work and it keeps everything even.

I tried to attach the PDF file I used to set my radio up but the upload feature here does not like pdf files. If you want you can PM me your e-maill address and I will be glad to send it to you if you would like. Let me know. That goes for anyone else who is interested.

JR 6102, and the PDF did't come thru. It's just something (flaps) I'm toying with.
I saw a guy with a big bipe come in just a few feet off the deck. his final was kinda hot, but he dropped the flaps and did a snap to vert and fininshed in a perfect stall/harrier landing. he said it was all in the timing, but this plane never got over 10 feet off the deck doing this landing.
    simply an amazing landing
