Status: online 		I could be wrong but I thoght the camo lines were over-sprayed .Curtus did use masks but I thought they were raised allowing a over -spray blend .I actually thought sams idea of the tubeing was great in attempting the soft line look . I think the pics above show a softer line vs hard core masking

Status: offline 		A question for Yellow P-40 owners. I am rebuilding mine after a bad take off, and have found that my landing gear are slow to retract and extend. Air pres. is 100psi. and the flow valve is open all the way. Is there anything that I can use to lube the gear? Or better yet, is there anything I should NOT use on them? Thanks.

Status: online 		you probably have a pinched line somewhere in the system. or a slow leak. check all your lines and connections. mine slam up and down and i'am thinking of adding restrictors to slow mine down.

Status: offline 		Thanks Bob, I looked for that, and even took one out of the system. Straight line to the gear and its still slow at the middle of the transition. It starts out fine, slows down to almost stopping and then bumps right into place, sometimes a little push with my finger is needed. I had restrictors in my first P-40 and they looked really good on the gear-up pass. One would go up faster than the other, many good comments. I will slow them down again after I get them working right. Thanks again for the thought. Jeff

Status: online 		jeff do you have the lines under the retracts? i originally had mine run through the cutouts in the retracts, but then i noticed that when you activate the unit the piston moves up and down and was pinching the air lines. you can not put anything under the unit lines or even the servo wires they will jam the pistons unless you cut out a relief hone under the mount. i just ran mine in front of the unit and every thing was solved. let me know.

Status: offline 		Well...the good news is that its all fixed now. The bad news is that the fix was so basic and I did almost everything "hard" before I checked the easy stuff. I re-routed all air lines. No good, New links, no good, new lines, no good. Then I did the most simple thing...I turned the valve inside the robart retract air valve 1/4 turn. I guess the slots in the cylinder inside the thing were not lined up. Now the gear work perfect. no sticking, no leaks. I never knew there was a right and wrong position on the retract valve. Guess I learned from that. thanks for the help. Jeff

Status: online 		i finally got a chance to fly mine last week, everything went fine and i coud not ask for a better day take off was straight down the runway ( i have a futaba gyro on the rudder and i seemed to really help ) flight was good nice roll rate a nice size loop, landing was on mains then tail. i had chills up and down my back. here are a couple of shots at the field

Status: offline 		Mastermodels great to hear about the flight. I was not happy about the air valve and so I took it apart. I found a big glob of dirt in the O-rings. I think this was the real problem. Anyway it works now. Now the hard part is waiting untill the weather is not -15. And hearing about others flying just makes it worse. ( But I still am glad your flight was a good one.)

Status: offline 		The wind was slight, and straight down the runway. Motor running, retracts working perfect, no flutter on the range check, nobody in the air....guess there are no more reasons (excuses) not to get the first flight in the air. And all that fuss was for nothing. The Yellow Aircraft P-40 was FLAWLESS. It was almost dull in fact. If you love P-40's you have to get one of Yellows!
