Colin,

The aluminum tube is the stuff you find in 12" lengths in the local hobby shop. It's harder than the tubing you can buy in rolls at the hardware store. I chose aluminum because I could cut it with a razor saw. Otherwise, nothing special about it. Brass would probably work too.

Hey guys trying the same thing and need a little (well alot) of help.
I have an AXI 4130/20 with a Jeti ESC 77
1...I would like to use a 3 blade but dont have to, I would like to fly longer then shorter (+4200 mAh) so a large capacity pack...
2...What advice for the mount, the universal one or are the specific type of spacer rodes...
3...How is the ESC and LiPo cooled in a sea plane...
4...Is there any after fly sprays or something to keep the motor clean and clear of H2O
5...A recommendation on LiPo and Prop would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Happy Holidays

Greggk,

You have plenty of power with the AXI to fly the Seawind well; see the previous postings in this thread. For relatively short flights, < 5 min, nothing gets warm if it is sealed inside the fuse -- there is plenty of air volume for cooling. Once in the air it requires relatively little power to fly. I would recommend that you seal things up for the first few flights until you get the CG right to minimize the porpoising problem on takeoff (well documented in other Seawind postings). If you dunk it in fresh water, things usually work well if you dry them out. Others have used "CorrosionX" successfully.

Good Luck,

Bob 93447

Hi- I just test flew my Seawind I converted to electric. My other one has a Saito 100 4-stroke, and the electric is much better! More "useable" power.
Thought you might be interested in some pics.

Couple ?
1. Is 5 1/8" the correct distance 4 the back-plate to firewall?

2. When installing motor does it appear the engine and shaft is negative (pointing down) and the cowl prop shaft hole is to high on the motor shaft, and either the cowl has to come down or the engine lifted up to make it fit?

LXQ1GO,

Thought you might appreciate the video of my Seawind landing on Lake Tahoe. Even at this altitude, 6225', the AXI 4120 has plenty of power.
